Most of these are Famicom games

>SHMUP
Cosmic Epsilon
TetraStar
Falsion
the entire "behind the character/ship view" subgenre is pretty underrated on the system and all three of these are really good

also Gyruss. Rotating single screen, one of my favourite SHMUPs on the system alongside SCAT and Crisis Force

>Action
Cosmo Police - Galivan: A middle ground between Zelda 2 and Metroid
Don Doko Don 2 - fun platformer
M.C Kids - genuinely one of the best platformers on NES after SMB/Adventure Island series
Grand Master
Hammerin' Harry (2nd one kinda sucks)
Heavy Barrel
Jurassic Park
Kyatto Ninden Teyandee
Makai Island, the Capcom game we never got
Mission Impossible
Mitsume Ga Tooru
Isolated Warrior - last game I played but I haven't beaten it yet

>Other
Exciting Billiard, amazing ball physics for an 8-bit system. Each adversary has different tactics and personality. Inspired by the movie The Hustler with Tom Cruise
Jesus: Kyoufu no Bio Monster - the game that inspired Metal Slader Glory
Kawa no Nushi Tsuri - the first in the fishing RPG series
Moai Kun - puzzle platformer
The Lone Ranger

>Racing
Taito Grand Prix - Eikou e no License: proto Gran Turismo, grind courses and upgrade your car and even buy new cars. Formula One Built to Win is a rip off of this game but not as good

>Aftermarket
Garbage Pail Kids - Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum
Rugrats
both of these feel like they could have really been made back then

i hate this autistic shit just post one game
>>
>>12431351
What do you mean that should keep you busy for a while. It's not even autistic either he simply effort posted and you're telling him he's in the wrong. Lurk moar my friend.
>>
>>12431351
i liked his list and im gonna try some of the games he suggested
>>
>>12431351
This. He's not even explaining anything about what makes them underrated. I can also pull a bunch of random titles from a wikipedia list and call them underrated, but that doesn't necessarily make it true.
>>
>>12431305
>Cosmic Epsilon
>TetraStar
>Falsion
I only knew Falsion, nice

OP also didn't

Have you tried asking them about a specific game?
>>
>>12431252
Because of his electric personality.

How the fuck are you supposed to do that? They are underrated because less people bought them then Mario or were stuck in Japan. There's your answer for every game that gets posted here.
>>
>>12431305
>Jesus: Kyoufu no Bio Monster
I'm skeptical of Famicom ports of PC games. They're usually significant downgrades from their PC counterparts.
>>
>>12431305
Gyruss is under rated, I like it a lot.

This is a good platformer. Somehow I remember the bosses were kinda hard, but that may be my inexperience at that time.

I fucking love Metal Storm, one of Irem's best. Also Quarth is great but I prefer the Game Boy version's power up system.

>>12431305
>Makai Island, the Capcom game we never got
A fascinating midpoint between Pirate Ship Higemaru & Goof Troop mechanically that's also technically a Makaimura/Ghosts n Goblins game. Also Cuck Island.

I had most of those nitpicks before I even knew who Bimmy was. Still a solid game, worst of the NES castlevanias but the other 2 are some of the best games on the system. I still played it a lot as a kid.
>>
>>12431716
>Bimmy
You need to go back to your pathetic stalker subreddit
>>
>>12431716
It's a 6 sandwiched between 9-10s so it feels a lot worse than it is, though it does suffer from a LOT of Tower of Druaga Syndrome (aka "let's make an extremely obtuse sequence of events required for completion" whereas crouching in weird spots in CV1 just gives you point-bearing items) as did many 80s Japanese games.

Nah. Keep it short, sweet, simple. Pick your favorite out of a list, explain why you like it.

If you are just going to spam a bunch of games my eyes just glaze over. Post the artwork or screenshot and a neat little sentence, bingo I now am interested.

Like Super Spy Hunter: one of the best vehicle action games ever made let alone vehicle games on NES.

Its what he did. He posted them lol. Don't hate on the effort posters anon he did a good thing.
>>

Think of it this way. His post may not have personally been how you wanted it to be, but many people enjoy recs exactly how he shared them. And this is a community my guy, its normal for posts to be like that.

Time Zone. A nice platformer for the Famicom. Also one of the first games I could finish.

It's censored compared to the computer version, but it also has notable additions like the companion.
>>

>Faxanadu
Way better than many more popular NES games. I've been seeing more and more people mention it though so I think it's finally starting to get the recognition it deserves

Cocoron for being like a Mega Man game where you can customize 6 different characters using multiple head and body types and I think 8 different weapons, plus a fairly unique stage select where the routes change depending on what stage you just came from.

Radia Senki for being an action RPG with good cutscenes and music and battles where you give basic commands to your allies while engaging in close combat against enemies yourself.

Armed Dragon Fantasy Villgust for being yet another action RPG but this time when you get into battles you can pick which of your teammates fights which enemy and are transported to a sideview perspective for the actual fight and can jump around.
>>
>>12432378
>Armed Dragon Fantasy Villgust

It's fun while it lasts but the end game feels super rushed. It feels like it had the budget of a Bandai game.

In a similar same style I think Mashin Hero Wataru Gaiden is a much more complete game
>>
>>12432087
I could agree with you, except your idea of this is an unreliable advertising one-liner and box artwork generally known to not be very reliable.

1 small paragraph can't be too long when describing something you supposedly like especially if you want to recommend/discuss it. For NES games finding a fitting screenshot if you don't make your own should be easy too. Mix your own opinion in it and it could be about as long as this text block.

Personally I like collages as this is an imageboard, but I've seen people spam images in those too. That's fine if you want to gush/showcase, but a late 3rd gen game doesn't need more than 6 for a recommendation. It's all just guidelines though, if everyone followed them it'd get stale.

Indiana Jones Chronicles, decent Castlevania clone (which is also funny it went full circle, from CV being influenced by Indy)

I had this one muscle memoried. I watched my big bro beat many times so I knew what to do and where to go. I thought the bread the enemies dropped was a piece of bubble gum. Love the key guy smoking a cigarette, my man.
>>
>>12431716
It was pretty shit, but I spent a lot of time playing and never beating it. Did not have a Nintendo Power subscription or internet (obviously) back then.

Prince Valiant. Yes, it's a PAL exclusive and not particularly remarkable, especially for such a late release, but somehow I like its melancholic atmosphere. The gameplay isn't anything special either, but at least it's still more enjoyable than in the Wizards & Warriors games

Krazy Kreatures (NES) is way more fun than it has any right to be considering its pedigree. The penultimate example of concept over presentation, after Tetris.
>>
>>12433383
Too bad it's just the one track through the entire game....

That's not true, though.

I'd say this was properly rated, many regard it as classic and rate the OST highly, but it's not as good as the OG title and because of that it gets forgotten compared to it, I do wish it got more love, but I think it's fair that it's not as fondly remembered as the superior 1st title with the walljumping, platforming and actual punching sometimes.
