I have a list of nearly 70 GBA games (beat 55 of them).

Out of those 70 these are the only 6 which aren't
>SNES ports
>sequels or new entry in pre-existing franchise
>licensed from some manga/anime/movie/etc

That's 8,5% titles that are truly original works.

What a grim platform. The 00's was really the start of the soulless era.

check out Guru Logic Champ and the Stafy games, you might like them
>>
Why does it matter ?
I thought the important thing was just games being good.
>>
>>12432552
You mean Starfy I presume?
>>
>>12432597
yep

>beat 55 of them
Have you beaten pokemon pinball ruby/sapphire?

Beaten = full pokedex and top high score for both pinball boards.
>>
>>12432519
Not true, the bit Generations games started on the GBA and they're wholly original.

>GBA games (beat 55 of them).
Did you get paid for doing this or what
>>
>>12432519
Wasn't Ice Nine originally supposed to be based on The Recruit movie?
>>
>>12433062
It's been 25 years, if you haven't beaten at the very least 30 GBA games what are you doing here? It's the 00's, they aren't hard to beat and plenty of them only last a few hours.
>>
>>12432519
>these fun games don't count because there's a familiar character on the box!
>>
>>12432519
I don't see the issue with licensed titles or sequels, as long as they're titles unique to the GBA then the console and its library has its worth. I personally love the Sonic and Crash titles for platforming, the Yu-Gi-Oh! titles are all great, Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace is a good sequel/spinoff to the Neversoft title, I don't see the hate as long as it's well made.

>Advance Wars
>Boktai
>Car Battler Joe
>CIMA
>Drill Dozer
>Golden Sun
>Kurukuru Kururin
>Lady Sia
>Magical Vacation
>Mega Man Zero
>Oriental Blue
>Ninja Five-O
>Rhythm Tengoku
>Riviera
>Summon Night
>Tomato Adventure
>WarioWare
just the fact it started the rhythm heaven and warioware series alone really BTFO your shit take, doesn't get more original than those games.

you don't understand, if you don't prepare the ground by rules lawyering what counts and what doesn't in a system library, then other anons will call you retarded when you post a thread shitting on that system for the (You)s.
>>
>>12433224
oh yeah add Super Star Saga to that list too, another great franchise started on GBA. or does that not count because Mario despite being totally new.
>>
>do thing you don't like
>do it a lot
>come to 4chan to complain about it
>>
>>12433129
Your reason for beating 50 GBA games is that it's been 25 years?
>>
>>12432519
If you enjoyed Ice Nine and Dark Arena you will LOVE the Ecks vs. Sever games.
>>
>>12433224
>Advance Wars
Like the 6th game in the franchise at that point
>Mega Man Zero
self explanatory
>Riviera
a port
>Summon Night
Like the 6th game in the franchise at that point

Dont sacrifice the point you have against the OP by demonstrating that you didnt even read or understand his statement.

I thought it based on a kurt vonnegut book
>>
>I do not care that a game is good, ONLY that is a new IP
not sure if admirable or retarded
>>
>>12433298
he's a preformative gamer
>>
>>12433512
What use is competence if you never experiment and.just copy the same old shit over and over?
>>
>>12433874
Sequels and even games based on anime/movies can experiment.
Such as Mega Man Zero and Astro Boy Omega Factor.

Hell, even "ports" like Max Payne or Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 experimented.
You can say they are entirely new games.

So it's pretty pathetic to disregard game X or Y just because it's not a new IP.
>>
>>12433909
Experimenting under the guise of a sequel/port/license is still the safer less soulfull method. It also leads to unfitting things like re-using a name/brand just for recognition and the game having nothing to do with the origins of that name, such as Mega Man Battle Network which has nothing to do with Mega Man and would have been better off as a new franchise.
As for Tony Hawk and Max Payne those examples are more due to the fact that they had little choice but to make the games like that on that hardware rather than a conscious will to make something new and different.

I'll give a random example but I've always thought that video games have never even scratched the surface of what would be possible in terms of telling a story through gameplay mechanics because instead everyone goes for the safe methods and won't try something new.
The GBA is a good example of how the 00's is less new blood, more safe re-using than the era that came before it. With this mentality prevailing we now got the point that the average gamer mostly only cares about big franchises (and this reflects back on their look of old games) and they don't realize things could have been and used to be different at some point.

I agree the GBA had flaws, mainly the lack of X and Y... and especially the screen on the OG model... but the library wasn't one of its issues, it's the highlight.
>>
>>12432571
It doesn't. He's just being a console war faggot.
