The peak of the Stealth genre.
>>
That's not MGSV
>>
>>12435739
too many open bases where you just sit for minutes at a time in the optimal camo
not enuf linear setpieces like chaos theory
simple as'
>>
>>12435739
good
>>
I'd say Thief mostly because it came first, and also created the immersive sim genre. But Chaos Theory certainly feels better to play.
>>
>>12435771
I think Thief is more fun, because of its emergent gameplay
>>
>>12435715
Yeah, probably

>>12435739
The only people who like MGS over SC are weebs. Deal with it
>>
>>12435785
There are plenty of systems in SCCT, it's pretty open in how you approach your objectives, if not on the solutions themselves. And it controls better than any modern action game you care to mention, it's kind of amazing how they made every control scheme feel responsive and intuitive, even PC. It doesn't hurt that, aside from the goofy models, the art design still holds up.
But Thief is a truly innovative game, I can't in good conscience put it over Thief 1.

My low IQ friends like Splinter Cell
My high IQ friends liked Metal Gear
>>
That multiplayer still is one of the top 5 experiences I’ve had in my life w fun playing w friends. Playing as a spy and sneaking up on buddies and hearing the yells and screams of “oh no” and “holy shit no” was always fun and satisfying. Never did play much of the campaign but from what I did it was pretty fantastic. The lighting in these games is just of the charts.

Gameplay heads prefer Splinter Cell
Self wank philosophy students prefer Metal Gear
>>
>>12435848
Splinter cell stealth gameplay depth is kindergarten shit compared to Metal gear Solid
>>

this has to be bait
>>
>>12435860
MGS is that the 'stealth' game with no sense of being quiet?
>>
>>12435864
Come back here after you have finished mgs3 on european extreme difficulty
Otherwise, keep playing your monkey friendly splinter cell stealth games
>>
>>12435715
>Splinter Cuck
Hitman mogs

>>12435785
>emergent gameplay
What?
>>
>>12435860
It's literally the other way around. I never disliked MGS but holy shit weebs are delusional retards. Neither games are realistic, frankly, but the MGS is far less realistic by a country mile to the point it feels arcadey. Doesn't mean it's bad gameplay though.
>>
>>12435715
imagine going through this ridiculous charade of setting up a rope, hanging upside down (in the rain), and waiting for this guy to walk by instead of just shooting him or tranqing him or whatever. no one has ever done this in real life

I like Blacklist better. But in terms of retro gaming, yes it is peak.

>MGS
>arcadey
>less realistic
Says the monkey who hide in a dark corner, whistling, thug come to check out (very realistic complex behavior), headshot the thug. The same arcadey mechanic for every enemy.

Explains why the franchise is dead
