Misread sprites in retro games. Everyone has them.
>>
Time to be quirky and pretend to misread things for upvotes!

>tfw the fucking translators don't actually do their job and decide to misread a sprite instead
thanks, Moyse

not sprites, but as a kid my dad insisted that the monkeys in super monkey ball wore diapers due to their asses being lighter-colored and smeared over composite. now that i think about it he might've just been fucking with me the entire time

The thing is a Myconid but the translator instead called it "leaf-vulture" because he thought that the hair made of leaves was a wing and the hand of the raised left arm a beak.

i forgot that they called the first form a myconid. i was under the impression that myconids were specifically mushroom people. maybe that is a mistranslation/misunderstanding in some way. but regardless, i find it to be a pretty awful sprite read to think that thing was a bird and not a little swamp-man raising his arm. first time hearing about this one.

nes monster party. probably the most universal one. EVERYBODY thought this thing was a crumpled up dead spider.

I still have no idea what this was supposed to be and why it was in the game.

Do you really live your life in fear of doing something reddit?

Considering the carnival aesthetic with the ferris wheel I'd say it's a tent.

Spiders, famous for having lizard heads and fingers and toes.

In Star Ocean 2 I always thought the back of Claude's sprite looked like a weird island native kid

>tan jacket is the brown skin, white pants not wearing a shirt, looks like he's wearing sandals
>>
>>12436737
It was a weird thing, before seeing that toy art I could only see an apologetic mangling mess, and the game was already weird so by filling the spaces a spider was the closest thing possible (the bad quality of my older TVs didn't help)

They do turn around you know.

I'm seeing a bouncing castle surrounded by some energy wave. Still it makes no sense.

It's a little super saiyan house.
