But even in 1982 you were better off buying a 400 strictly for gaming instead of a 5200. People tend to think Atari only began to fail in 1983 but that was just the tipping point. They sealed their fate before the 80s even started, and I say this as an Atari tard.

As you can see the numberpad cable has the correct plug and you can see the regular joystick plugging into that.
