I don't think anyone on this planet has ever beaten this game
>fetch quest: the (100 hour) game
I did
>>12446012I have. Playthrough was 95 hours and that was with a bunch of grinding I did because I felt like it. I don't understand how people can play dozens of JRPGs but act like beating this one is some impossible task.
>>12446012I did but the 3ds version, I don't think it would be that different
Still playing original japanese famicom DQ1, don't see why some anons were so keen against it, perfectly enjoyable game and amazing for 1986!
>>12446012they all die of old age before doing so
>>12446012Already marathoned the mainline DQ games and I'm certain the "people" that complain about 7 are dopamine fried zombies demanding instant gratification from a slow burn, melancholic JRPG.
>>12446012Is not that hard and lots (japanese) have finished the game.Over 200 hours but is a masterpiece and worth to play it.
>>12446234Snes is better and has added content just that.>>1244605295 hours? I bet you skipped lot of stuff since on my second play i was 120 hours still on disc 1.
>>12446494>120 hours on disc 1that's fucking retarded
>>12446498Sorry for enjoying and having fun playing the game, maybe i will get 100% and make a world record on completion and speed next time just like when i played chrono trigger the first time with 10 hours 11 minutes and 100% completion.
>>12446012VII and IX were the best in the series and I'm tired of contrarians pretending otherwise.
>>12446052> I don't understand how people can play dozens of JRPGs but act like beating this one is some impossible task.probably boils down to:>scarred memory of the ridiculous intro 'chapter' before even seeing a battle>shard hunting so easy to miss one, one single resource to track which one(s) you're missing that you have to slog through a hub world to get a clue.
>>12446234Msi was the orginal.
Listening to the soundtrack in dsd: https://archive.org/details/dqviiss_202505
>>12446773True, actually.
>>12446813If you missed a shard it was the worst possible needle in the haystack to find in the original version. Good lord. It could literally be anywhere in both the past and present.
>>12446012I beat it 3 times. Original twice, and then the 3DS remake. Now there's ANOTHER remake, i'm not sure if I want to beat it a 4th time, as much as I enjoyed the game it's just so fucking long and I don't have that kinda time to waste, especially since I got back into Diablo 2.
>>12446773Why did you pick entries that are completely different from each other?
>>12447413Because those are some of the least liked DQ games and anon wants to bait someone else by saying they are the best.
>>12447434IX is literally 3 but bigger and better, why the fuck people not like it? Because zoomers freak about "where are MUH super snowflake characters that talk how can i pretend to have friends if all the party is mute?!?!?" But that doesn't stop people from praising 3....
>>12447439>zoomers scapegoat>muh made up scenario in my headDo you actually want an answer? You've already started the argument in bad faith.
>>12447461Tell me, Literally everyone praises 3 but 3.20 isn't liked?
>>12447413>completely different from each otherAre they? They have a pretty similar structure.- Episodic as fuck with way too many unmemorable self-contained stories.- Main quest progresses slowly.- Central conflict is underdeveloped because they decided to spend too much time on side stories that have no weight.
>>12447464The only problem with IX is that if you are the kind online player as most born post 1990 they won't enjoy it because you need to have real life friends to play kinda in similar fashion to XI 3ds but sadly they don't have real life friends. But dragon quest IX has a great story even better then 8 well as always the only game that can surpass draquest is newer draquest.
>>12447434Sadly for anon he makes no sense since any draquest player will choose by saga and not by entry.>rotto saga : draquest 3-1-2 in that order.>tenkuu saga : draquest VI--IV-V in that order.>eden saga : Draquest IX-VII-VIII in that order. Is either you like one saga or the other, i like the eden and tenkuu saga which are great.
>>12448040>any draquest player will choose by saga and not by entryNo one does that.>eden sagaNo one sees those games as a trilogy.
>>12448121They are trilogies fagot, terry from 6 is one of the boss monsters from 4.
I remember this game, never did beat it. I remember you could actually talk to the party and the old man kept making dirty jokes.
>>12448162>"eden" saga>6 and 4Learn to read.
>>12448031I enjoyed IX without any friends or multi-player crap, has to use a cheat code to enable the DLC but it was good DLC
>>12448180It seems the only one that can't read is the mutt as always , and the trilogies have an order alrrady mentioned.
>>12448269>can't read>can't write>can't support his made-up headcanonMaybe you should stop posting.
how the fuck are VII-IX a trilogy?
>>12447434Only ever seen anons praise IX
>>12446773>complains about contrarians>singles out fan favorite VIII
>>12449121Just call it final fan on 11 CDs then?
>>12446305The speedrun of the 3DS remake which, "cuts down the overly-long opening" which skips everything, mashes through text, and even uses teleport items takes nearly an hour to reach the first battle. In the time it took me to get to the first battle I could've completed the first Tomb Raider, the original Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry 3 with plenty of time to spare. There's slow burn and then there's trying to light a candle with a magnifying glass at night.
>>12447439Because without being able to take it online and interact with friends, DQ9 is barely half a game.
>>12446012I launched it and I think I left the house you start at. After that I clicked X at the top right of the screen
>>12446052>>12446494Youve piqued my interest. But how much of this is dialogue/cutscenes?The idea of an insanely long game is very appealing, I guess in terms of a product/time investment way. But I think about Persona 5 , which I hear is also that long because there's a shitton of weeb wish fulfillment dialogue. On the opposite side of the scale, a game like Dungeon Travelers 2 taking 300 hours to do every bit of gameplay possible is great because so much of it is pure gameplay. Not retro, I know, but its the only games that come to mind.
>>12448162>Terry is a boss monster in 4What? I don't remember this
