Maybe I am just a zoomer but these are unfair and a gigantic waste of time. Even SilkSong is not this tedious.

I consider save states cheating but honestly who gives a fuck? I don't use save states only because I don't mind playing a level over again if I run out of lives (unlike OP it seems) and the games that do send you back to the beginning of the entire game are always so short it doesn't even matter to me.
Really I think the choice to use save states is a patience thing.

Mega Man 3 is of average difficulty for the eight Robot Masters, becomes the hardest of all six NES games for the Doc Robot stages, then gives you the easiest Wily levels in the entire series.

Again, only if you run out of lives. If you didn't you get sent right outside the boss room which is actually pretty generous considering most games in general don't do that.

I know that it isn't as clear cut as megaman 1 and 2 but you are still able to logic your way out of it like electricity being an enemy of magnets which would probably be effective against the heavy metal guy.

If you are too lazy to identify clearly readable patterns (which is a massive improvement over the first game mind you) then you can always exploit a weakness. This is fair, you are just bad.

Here's how the game should play if you're not retarded:
>Reach boss without any lives lost, max 1 life lost
>Lose to boss while learning pattern
>Respawn directly in front of boss
>Win, or lose once more before winning
If the level is hard or you're struggling, you might spend one game over learning the level, and then be able to what the boss without a second game over

Really? I'm pretty sure I've had more trouble with MM1 than any part of MM3 ever but it's been a long time since I played either. I have never completed MM1 without cheating (lightning + pause/unpause trick) btw.

The second one is difficult, there are no checkpoints, if you die at the yellow devil you have to start from the beginning of the stage, and most likely have to farm energy for Rush Jet.

Megaman games always filter the fuck out of me and I don't know why. Tried playing MM 1 and 2, furthest i've ever gotten was the Wily stages. Same with any X game. I tried playing Zero the other day and literally could not beat the first boss. I dunno what's wrong with my brain but i straight up cannot adapt to this series.

I can definitely get a vibe for X games being easier but they still beat my ass at the end.
