>>12457883yeah Atlantis sucked, no surprise since it was a map by some new nobody. Probably his first serious map too
Anons, I started assembling the decorate version of Operation Deadbolt. Is there anything else to add beyond a quick melee attack and grenades?I thought about having altfires, but coming up with altfires for their sake is bad design desu. I think it's best to give all guns the same altfire (grenades). As for extra weapons, I think maybe a smaller, weaker pistol might work well with the bigger handcannon you start with. Something small and inconsequential that has a low chance of replacing clips.

>>12457912 >weaker pistol might work well with the bigger handcannon you start with. Something small and inconsequential that has a low chance of replacing clips. If you don't even start with it and it's so small and inconsequential, is there any reason to use it at all over the revolver or machine gun? Like it being an emergency infinite ammo pea-shooter, a lack of cooldown after longer bursts (if you intend on not adding a manual reload), splitting it off into a different ammo type (lmao) or a silencer (LMAO)? Maybe having to press 2 twice to pull out the revolver is supposed to add to the challenge? This just sounds like the Ashes glock all over again, or you approaching the Mace territory with his obligatory minimum of 4 automatic hitscan weapons per mod that all do exactly the same thing with slightly different numbers attached.Practically, I only see the different weapon sub-sub-categories actually gaining use on a more vulnerable player character, because you can no longer dance around a given encounter with a single gun nearly as easily. Then is you really squint, you could see a dedicated long distance weapon playing a role, but the revolver covers that field quite well. Plus you just finished that Deimos fork, so I assume this direction is out of your system for now.Other than that, I suppose it works aesthetically, if that's what you're going for first and foremost. Or if it is your way of having the experience of adding more just for the sake of it without having to dedicate to making altfires for all guns. Then, go for it.

>>12458014>Mace territoryNo, kek. I don't like more than two weapons per slot.As for what I'd do, I'm thinking of them as being shitty disposable pistols printed in bulk by the UAC so you just toss them when they're empty. It's just a gimmicky way of reusing cut stuff that never got to the beta, since originally you'd start with a weak but snappy pistol.>>12458080If I change something, it's because I'm not stuck with shitass Decohack anymore.

Guys I have a problem! I installed Armbian on a Pinebook Pro and it plays Doom mods pretty well. The problem is it only came stock with a 64GB eMMC but I keep putting more mods on. I've got Ashes 2063/Afterglow, Diamond Dragon, Siren, Diablo 3D, Inquisitor 3, Trenchfoot, Castlevania, Metroid, Terminator in EDAY, Warhammer 40K in Attack on Io and Godless Night, a fucking Metal Slug mod in the Moonlit District!!! Anyhoo can any of you provide me with a shortlist of any others I should also add while I still have the space to spare?
>>12458261That sounds like a problem I would like to have.
>>12458250And?some (or lots) maps are not compatible with older/newest versions of Gzdoom because scrpting/Zscript issues, your point newfag?
>>12458313You took a bunch of classic Death-Destiny slaughter maps, all but one of which are Boom-compatible and portable to nearly all engines, and put them into a compilation in a way that made them so they can only be played in ZDoom. This is vandalism. You then accuse others of being newfags when called out on your malfeasance. You are worthless, and should kill yourself immediately in a painful and humiliating way.
>>12458304They're all free My Man & run on just about any old compu you have lying around so go get them anytime you want. Did you need help getting them to work?

>>12458324You misunderstand. Never mind, it doesn't matter.
>>12458330Oh ya it has an SD card slot. Can GZDoom launch from other drives? If I was feeling really ambitious I can install a secondary internal NVMe but when I'm working with 1.8ghz CPU & 4GB RAM I have to squeeze that little extra performance & power efficiency from the eMMC. I could swap the 64GBs for a 128GB EMMc but that would either involve reinstalling Ambian from scratch which isn't easy on the Pinebook because it doesn't have it's own UEFI until towboot is installed on the SPI or cloning the old chip then launching from an OS on the SD card and using gparted to expand the partition in the new chip to the full 128GBs and.. that'd be a pain in the ass.
>>12458328the poems should've been kept for those new lore books, wery well written. I miss old cutscenes but they were probably removed as they don't fit well with altered plot

>>12457912yeay i was worried i would never get to play with the nice hud in gzdif you want to add another pistol it will need to have a reason to use itmaybe something like a cz75-auto with a very fast full auto secondary fire that just dumps the whole mag in like a second? I'd like to see something like that with a stripper clip reload but that depends on whether you want to bother animating that. Not sure on altfires for the other weapons. There are some obvious shoe-ins like both barrels for the double barrel. Or a grenade launch or seeker missile for the rocket launcher.
>>12457816What are some good alternatives to MEGA in terms of file space?Dropbox and Proton have like 2 GB by default while MEGA has like 20.I'd like a place to host my wads and shit and wanted something else besides MEGA.
>>12458183>I get to fight more enemies? With ONLY a double barrel? Splendid.
Disregard my opinion because I just started, but holy shit in my almost 40 years I never played FPS that is more trial'n'error than Blood. Zero (not checking the source code but I'm confident it's as close to zero as possible) reaction time on hitscan enemies is just crazy. Combined with the fact that most of the hitscan enemies are placed in the most tricky ambush places possible makes it so crazy, you start to question the sanity of whoever designed this. At this point it doesn't even matter if you play slow or fast, they will rape your ass either way. And then you learn all the enemies placement and just go through the checklist "dynamite here, peek-a-boo here, dynamite here and here and here, doorcamp here and here, and then more dynamite, okay you're allowed to improvised in this particular place don't get ahead of ya". It's a completely different experience from all other shooters from that era, even some Delta Force which was supposed to be more slow and tactical doesn't punish you like that. Even though I managed to find almost all the secrets, there's still not enough resources. Especially medkits, holy shit with hitscanners as crazy as cultists you expect the game to give you at least some damn health, at least in secrets, but nope, not a chance. It almost feels like a puzzle game more than a shooter game.Either way, so far I'm enjoying it for the novelty.
>>12459257if you're releasing on doomworld, you can attach file to the post (small wads only)https://clovr.xyz/wadsup/ (small wads only)archive.org (very slow but will probably be available in the next 20 years)you can abuse github for space like create a repo and make a release attachmentask someone to self-host it for you?
>>12459441Play on Lightly Broiled for your first time. Difficulty affects monster hitpoints/damage/reaction speed. On Well Done cultists can kill you in one second but on LB it's much more of a normal fps experience
>>12459487>Lightly BroiledThat's how I'm playing and no it's not, the reaction time is almost non-existent. Sure it's not every time, but some of the cultists shoot you the 0.0001s you looked around the corner. I'll make some video clips next time. Is this really how it is, they have a slower reaction time on average on lower difficulties? Or is it just a speculation, or just gidgud and lower the difficulty? Just googled and it looks like the source code was never released to the public.
>>12459495>Is this really how it is, they have a slower reaction time on average on lower difficulties? Or is it just a speculationYour post is just speculation. You could have started a new game and tested it out in the time it took you to write all that.E1M2 is notoriously hard but later levels aren't as ammo-starved

I'm playing through Doom and Doom 2 for the very first time.I just beat the map "Downtown".How is this one possible? I thought you couldn't have multiple floors stacked on top of each other, but this map has buildings with things inside and ceilings, and top floors you can walk on?
>>12459542>I thought you couldn't have multiple floors stacked on top of each otherYou can't. There are no stacked surfaces, just clever use of space and teleporters.

I'll drop some random tidbits that most people already know and may or may not helpEnemies have a finite turning rate and can only attack in front of them, run circles full speed around a cultist to see it in actionCrouching actually does something and gives you a hitscan dodge buff akin to Doom's partial invisibilityCultists that have been hit by a bullet or pitchfork will crawl around like a goofball for a second. I am both impressed and annoyed with map 13 of abscission.Putting a monster spawner that is actually out of the map bounds and the spawned monsters are just crushed is a pretty brilliant way to induce anxiety and urgency in the player. At least I was constantly in a rush and worry.

Think fast /vr/! It is that time again. Think of it as if the Revenant's are dancing towards you.)
>>12458109>>12458186Not much to say. Blood's art direction changed far less than Duke 3D or Shadow Warrior over the course of development, so we've got a handful of earlier sprite renditions but that's about it.

Anyone got a tutorial for ACS scripting for total techlets? I want to do something nice for the eternity project
I beat Death Wish. And I'm going to be brutally honest and say that I thought it was an incredibly underwhelming finale. It wasn't difficult, it didn't feel epic enough. It wasn't "bad" but it feels highly disappointing compared to the usual high Bloatoid standard. The old Episode 3 finale was like 20x better. It's sad.
>>12463512Feel more or less the same way. Also, the minor changes made to episodes 1-3 seem peripheral and unnecessary. The last episode is good and all, but it the maps feel overall inferior to ep2/3. The final map is weak, but that is almost standard for all retro fps boss maps
>>12463330Bayonets are underrated. With Declarate, it'd be possible to combine that with the pistol/rifle weapon as an altfire.
>>12463512agreed.Most updates to original maps were nice, except new Inferno, the now called Last Resort. 4th episode was nice, but nothing about it felt final, ep3 did that thing better back in 1.7 with spooky silent hill openers, great castle map and then those hard maps later. I liked the ship, museum and village maps the most. The whole thing overall is a bit easier too now, with crazy spam of green and blue cultists which, in my opinion, are not as fun to fight as the classic brown and grey dudes.I also didn't like new music tracks, don't fit with Blood, don't fit with these maps and don't fit with the ost Death Wish already had
>>12463053If you didn't like Valiant even on HNTR, you're just gay.>>12463509I'm not even going to bother with ACS for my map, I'll just do VooDoo like I've always done.I wish you luck though.

>>12463616>ironically you could integrate the two by making voodoo dolls cross over action linedefs with "Execute script" actionThat's unironically what I'd do. Someone bakes a script and I employ it with a VooDoo sequence lmao.

>>12463616Honestly, just look at some other eternity acs scripts and copy the basic format of stuff. You can see all the scripts for Heartland if you open the .pke in slade, and if you export the maps you can load them with udb. In udb you can hit F10 to open the built in script manager. Also check the wiki:https://eternity.youfailit.net/wiki/ACS_scriptinghttps://eternity.youfailit.net/wiki/ACS_built-in_functionshttps://eternity.youfailit.net/wiki/Parameterized_linedef_specials#ACS_ScriptsNote that Eternity acs is more limited than Zdoom acs. For instance, you can TakeInventory, but there's literally no way to GiveInventory yet with EE.
Haven't been in the thread in a while, qrd on the Eternity project we're doing?
>>12463668Eternity can technically do a lot of fancy things, but it's VERY rarerly used for anything, Skillsaw's Heartland was the first notable project, basically ever. So, a few of us wanted to try to make something with Eternity, just to see what it's like. But, alas, run-and-gun it is. It is very strange, that there was Ultima Underworld one year, Doom next year, action games were on the rise and rpg games went into their golden era, but nobody tried to cash on the combo of both. The best we got is Daggerfall and Battlespire but that's it.P.S. Fuck captcha. What is that shit.
>>12463785>P.S. Fuck captcha. What is that shit. You don't have enough good boy points. Just keep making posts until your social credit gets high enough to where you only get a single super easy captcha, and then like every other post you make won't need it.
>>12463701>pretty retarded>I also just discovered it supports Print but not HudMessage so you can't really display messages for the player like in zdoomYes. Actually playing with Eternity, and trying to map for it, has more than anything convinced me that the opinion:>"MBF21 killed Eternity's hype!"... is nothing but a sordid delusion. A delusion fueled either by someone who maybe played Heartland, but has never actually modded or mapped for Eternity in his life, and just likes the 'romantic' idea of the underdog advanced sourceport dethroning GzDoom, OR, someone who actually has extensive familiarity with Eternity, but they're so programmer brained that they can't relate with how ungainly and underdeveloped the port is in comparison to people who don't live and work on GitHub.Most probably the former, given that Eternity still only has Heartland after all this time, and Skillsaw himself seemingly never looked back. There's a lot of vitriolic shitting I can do on GzDoom and making content for it (why is the resolution scaling like it fucking is, you stupid fucking turkeyman?), but the port at least makes a real effort to accommodate users and modders, while Eternity still feels like a beta from 25 years ago.It doesn't have GiveInventory because go fuck yourself, and it requires a fucking external program to use a different .sf2 because the devs think that's actually an adequate solution somehow.Anyway, I'll finish my map for this, but as it is now, I see zero compelling reason to ever come back to it, it's a half a horse town kind of sourceport and format.
>>12463785>We has got close to it with the Hexen and WitchavenHexen is a worse dungeon crawler than Heretic is, IMO, and the less said about Witchaven, the better.

Does exist a mbf21 compatibl mod that let drop heal when you kill a demon with melee?
No, because that isn't possible in MBF21.You might get away with making the melee also launch a projectile which itself drops a health bonus or whatever on death (i.e. it collides with something), but then you'll get health back whenever you hit a wall or monster. There's no way to check if what that projectile hit is a monster or a wall, I think. You might be able to play with adding and removing flags to it, but I can't see that working or being a worthy use of your time. It's easier to do what Eviternity 2 did, where some monsters drop health or armor if you gib them.
>>12463917I tried VoidSW and it kept crashing and the air movement in Raze felt way too snappy (AKA not accurate), not to mention all the tinkering I had to do right off the bat (trilinear filtering on by default lol). I guess I'll try the Redux version later since I already own it and if that's bad it's back to BuildGDX.
>>12463892>JavaNo way fag.Seconding >>12463964 , even smoother aiming aside, it just has all the QoL features you would expect from a modern source port. Just finished playing through Death Wish 2.0, my thoughts:- I agree that the ending level felt underwhelming. Doubly so after the mapper added so much lore in the preceding levels which seemed to gesture at some epic climax incoming.- The soundtrack was excellent, every bit of it.- I also agree that the green/blue cultists were overused. Meanwhile the gargoyles felt oddly few in number (though I don't actually blame the author - gargoyles are annoying to fight the way they keep fucking off to gods knows where).- I really liked the bits of lore and the poems strewn through the levels. All the more disappointing, then, that the ending felt underwhelming not just in gameplay but in plot. Also, this is just a silly speculation, but... I've just read on the wiki that Bloatoid had some trouble working on the mod because he was busy with his wife's pregnancy. I wonder if his married life inspired him to revamp the story of Death Wish to focus more on the Caleb/Ophelia romance (given what you learn at the very end of the museum map).
speaking of Death Wish 2.0, has anyone found a moon key on the Nightmare level? is there even one? I'm curious about this door
>>12465358The ending of the game seemed to heavily imply that Tchernobog killed them because Ophelia was pregnant and he feared the idea that their child would be vastly more powerful than him. Or at least that's what it seemed like. There was also a lot of stuff about other gods and ancient history that I haven't fully been able to grasp. My main issue with the last map is that it's just too small and easy and I beat it in like 2 minutes. The story was fine and a welcome addition though. Ultimately it's a game about shooting zombies, and therefore a climax should facilitate that.
I haven't actually played Blood in like 12 years, maybe even longer. All this talk of Death Wish (which I haven't played yet either), makes me feel a hunger for it. Tommyguns, dynamite, and burning cultists...How is Raze compared to NBlood? Also, aside from the new episode, what else is different about 2.0 for Death Wish? Would it be worth playing the older version? How tough is Death Wish compared to the base game and its expansions?

Played some Blood today on my PII233 - Cryptic Passage Map02(theater) and -03(library). SunStorm did an awesome job on this.
>>12465446>Also, aside from the new episode, what else is different about 2.0 for Death Wish? Would it be worth playing the older version?Minor level polishing for eps 1-3. I don't think there is much reason to play the older versions.>How tough is Death Wish compared to the base game and its expansions?Kind of on par? To be fair, Blood is the only classic 2.5d game where shit gets real fast even with basic enemies, but you can also btfo them pretty easy.

>>12465671Overall, CREMATOMANIA is a solid experience that delivers exactly what it says on the tin. No modern mapping sins, just solid old-school gameplay in some really nice-looking environments. If I were an *******, I'd say "it's like a Doomer Boards Project but without the Joe-Ilya maps", but that's selling Killerratte short. Hopefully, this mapset is a good indicator of what we can expect from the budding TimeOfDoom forum and its userbase of people with an IQ well above 40. >>12465841>*BOOOOM!*>*Click-clock-clack.*Such a satisfying weapon.>>12465904Part of the sheer might of Doom 2's Super is how its swarm of shot 'skips' monsters which are already killed by previous shot in the same call, so against weaker monsters you get this absolutely BALLER effect of all 20 tearing through a whole row/group. Optionally the remaining ones continuing after you kill a bigger and meaner one.Makes it feel like a big blunderbuss full of hardened lead shot.Quake's monsters being sturdier, and its SSG not giving you that really generous skipping behavior, really puts a crimp on it, but I still find it good Shambler and Fiend medicine, because it's fast instead.
>>12466035it's pretty good with the quad but then try to imagine doomguy with a quad
>>12465904Can't have it outshining Trent Reznor's Nice Inch Nail Gun, presumably.
>>12465904I keep telling people this, but the best thing you can do is treat Quake's shotgun like a pistol, and the SSG like Doom's normal shotgun. With that mindset things fall into place better.
>>12466035Dusk's Super Shotgun is the only other one I've used in a game that manages to come close to Doom 2's in my opinion. The less spongy enemies and it having an actual reload animation (despite its simplicity) probably helps sell that to me.>>12466057>Quad-damage super shotgun would be enough to instakill Arch-Viles, Hell Knights, Arachnotrons, Mancubi, Revenants, Cacodemons, and Pain Elementals.>Killing mass amounts of weaker enemies like a wave of dominos.>Point-blanking an Arch-Vile and every enemy he's resurrected behind him.>Killing a Pain Elemental, bypassing any lost soul in front of him, and any ones behind him.>Basically just the BFG, minus the ball, and only the tracers, for only two shotgun shells. The lack of diverse powerups is probably one of the old Doom games' biggest weaknesses, but Quad Damage in the OG Doom games would've been absolute euphoria.
>>12466342Actual Quad Damage would be insanely powerful for Doom's damage and health ratios, which is probably why Skulltag's "Doomsphere" only doubled your damage, instead of quadrupling it.Though you could pair it with something like the Rage Rune for 2x rate of fire, or the Spread Rune for 3x the projectiles/hitscans, so with some luck or/planning, you could still get a really obscene damage output, if rarely.Imagine 3 BFG balls at once, which each let of their 40 traces, and you have the 2x damage boost to all of this.
>>12465904Quake 2's is good enough at least, even if not as good. On the other hand, Doom's rocket launcher doesn't feel anywhere near as good as Quake's 1 or 2, and the chaingun is so ass that as a kid I didn't even realize it was supposed to be a chaingun. Overall I'd take Quake's weapons over Doom's any day.

>>12466996i mean a few tiny sfx files shouldn't bloat the filesize much
>>12467004We'll see if I do it, the pistol has 6 firing sounds and I'm admittedly just being lazy about this.Higher pitched sounds would ultimately be the more satisfying choice over just a more generalized click or dink sound.

>>12466852Yeah it's worth it. It's at least fun having a variety of large, different frames for the weapons to sort out. If you look at something like Comatose, that's a big open town level with grand scenery and a lot of detail, and it runs like complete shit in JizzyDoom. However, the biggest reason that it runs like shit isn't that it's a big and open town with a fair amount of detail (though that always adds up), but it's because Lainos uses literally 25000 tall grass sprite decorations across the town, including in large areas outside the level you can't even go to. That adds up like fuck.If you remove the majority of this tall grass, performance in JizzyDoom improves dramatically. There is no redemption arc for him. He has become completely batshit insane.
>>12468852You sound like a woman scorned
>>12468852All DOOM forums are made by and for volatile retards. It's okay. This DBF splinter can fly if you believe.
>>12468852He was always batshit insane. Abandoning UAC Ultra 2 because of some small retarded spite with some literal whos was the most retarded thing he did. Then making a literal troll map for the best DBP (Auger Zenith) as a some kind of spergout. Then occasionally having some schizo theories that make Sarais look sane. Talented mapper though. He's the kind of chaotic guy that gets lot of good things done but also gets lot of them undone.>>12468886Nice try, 40oz.
>>12457816What happened to the guy that made Alfonzone?I wonder if it works with UZDoom.
>>12469071Alfonzo? I think he still does his things. Also, I think he mostly made the music for Alfonzone, with people making maps they felt would fit what he wrote.
>>12469071>>12469230It's made by Pinchy.
>>12464534>Eternity Submisssion for unnamed Eternity project: https://files.catbox.moe/l38zmf.wadMap name: High OrbitAuthor: AnonymousMusic: "old school disco" by m0d: https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=104441There are likely some bugs I missed, since this map has a lot of convoluted stuff going on. I pretty much just tried to use as many unique mapping features as possible without hindering game play. Sometimes the spaceship polyobject can render weird, but I think that might just be an unavoidable effect of using many floor portals with moving edge portals. Also, some of the scripts/EDF will be modified in a later update, think of it as an easter egg for now.
>>12469779How do I play it?I tried loading with eternity -file vrEEres_0a.wad l38zmf.wad and it saysE_ProcessSprites: no sprite names defined.

I saw Revoke post a showcase of Kan:Awakening, and downloaded it. The weapons are well-animated, sound good, everything but something about how they behave causes them to somehow not work properly with nashgore or the damage system of Project Malice. If anyone here is familiar with zscript, please advise on how this could be amended. I don't care if the resulting addon is unpostable due to credit issues.

>>12468665The N64 controller was always weird, but regarding the Goldeneye part: It's not really a favorite of mine, but you can't deny it was fun to play spiltscreen back then. Some people in my friendgroup didn't have PCs back then, so this was a way for them to get into some fun FPS nights as well. >Turok on N64I have never played it on the N64, played the shitty PC ports of 1 and 2 back in the day. I imagine it being quiet the pain regarding Turok 1's platforming, but maybe some other anon can tell you something about that.>>12469826Good slaughter takes skill to make. The alternative would be less monsters but limiting the player in their movement more. Pick your poison. Somehow we gotta keep a game from 93 challenging. And a good slaughter map is like a combat puzzle to solve.
>>12469826>>12469832you're complaining about slaughter, yet i see no evidence of that while playing this mapset. are you guys just talking shit because you larger maps? the enemy count isnt even that high to begin with

I replayed Chasm recently. Are there any mappacks for it that are worth my time? Are there any to begin with?
>>12469836Did you know: at 206 monsters, Plutonia 32 is still considered to be slaughter. It's even in the Doomed Index!
>>12469875How's Evi treating you so far? I never finished the second episode, let alone with mods.>>12468809Good to see you again. You bless us with cute demon girls every time.>>12469886The people don't want you to know, but Eraser is slaughter. Why? There's an arena with something like 150 monsters in it, and the true ending holds at least 1/3rd of all the monsters in the map.Thinking about Eraser just makes me want to make my take on hell, which would probably take after Hellraiser's take on hell. As an aside, a friend once told me that mappers usually aren't modders, and modders usually aren't mappers. That I think making a map is easier than actually working on Deadbolt's upgrade to Decorate/ZScript is pretty telling.
>>12468693bottom right is the filename of the map. I found it in the files of Alien Armageddon mod for Duke 3D. Used DNSHOWMAP cheat to look around
>>12469902>How's Evi treating you so far? I never finished the second episode, let alone with mods.Pretty good surprisingly. Project Malice monsters are set to 'fast', and I've been experimenting with Deimos-1's original 1.5 damage scaling for Phobos Delta. It's been a nice 'sweet spot' for me.Hardest/most frustrating part so far has been the teleporting zombiemen room in map31.

>>12470120something not everyone knows about build mapping is the very strict nature of map limits. DOS limit is 8k walls and every map has to be designed around it. It's tough choice to have to cut something for free resources to add more detail to something else. Modern limit just doubles it to 16k and it's still sucks. This thing is so deeply interwoven with the engine you'd have to start from scratch to remove that limit. Doombros have it easy
>>12470126I realize these things aren't necessarily directly comparable, but 16k lines is still a pretty high number. Also, vanilla doom will usually start having savegame overflows if your map has more than like 4k-5k linedefs. For reference, Sunlust (random example) has only 4 maps with more than 16k linedefs:https://doomwiki.org/wiki/MAP16:_Lost_Antiques_(Sunlust)https://doomwiki.org/wiki/MAP24:_Dying_on_Cue_(Sunlust)https://doomwiki.org/wiki/MAP28:_Maelstrom_(Sunlust)https://doomwiki.org/wiki/MAP30:_God_Machine_(Sunlust)How many walls does the map actually have?

>>12463820I think in part this is a self reinforcing phenomenon. Not many people use Eternity, which causes people to submit fewer bug reports/ feature requests so the devs aren't sure what to improve, and there are fewer people volunteering to become devs themselves. Eternity can't really do more than gzdoom other than some portal fuckery (which I assume is more performant than 3d-floors proper) and surprisngly, vanilla demo compat. But other other ports are generally for demos, so Eternity falls into an awkward middle ground.>Skillsaw himself seemingly never looked back.Skillsaw hasn't made anything else since Heartland either, has he? (even though he said he'd do something for mbf21). He's also stated on the "Evening With Nirvana" podcast that he uses Eternity as his default port for playing doom, so I'm pretty sure he's still a fan. >it requires a fucking external program to use a different .sf2 because the devs think that's actually an adequate solution somehow. They might actually address this if someone submits a request.
>>12470376>They might actually address this if someone submits a request.IIRC multiple people on Doomworld complained about that years ago, and the answer really just was to use the external program. You could try submitting a request, but I doubt you'd get a different outcome.

>>12471304oh shit nigger eternity does not have a speed up/slow down function so rewatching this demo will be a pain. I will write down some thoughts so you only need to watch my shitty demo at most one time:a) In general, instead of removing monsters on easy difficulty, add more medkits and armor bonuses, and perhaps more ammob) Make the switches face the center of the room, instead of the wall, so that you can spot them easier (I wander around a lot near the start of the demo because of the switch)c) about 6 min in I get shredded by chaingunners that I cannot even look up to shoot atd) Instead of nerfing the spot where I died at the first time, add a soul sphere on easy difficulty.e) Add more armor bonuses after the mega armor (at least on easy) so that you can replenish the mega armorf) Berserk by the yellow key, plus armor bonuses in the area, since I died on the way back from the yellow key the second time
