>>12460595Fuck yeah Super Aleste was my first shmup
>>12460595>>12461796https://shmuplations.com/zanac/>Aside from the big name stores in Hiroshima, there were also places like Matsumoto Musen and Auburn Denshi, stores which were dedicated to computer sales, and these too became gathering spots for interested hobbyists. Anyone here have info about these 2 places, do they still exist?
>>12460595Compile is interesting because their shmups aren't really arcade-style. They came from MSX dev culture and you can feel it in the weapon systems, flow, less focus on pure memorization. Also most of their feel comes from one core programmer (Hirono), which is why their games are so consistent.>>12461801Have you tried archive.org?
They had a interesting interpretation of Gundam…or was it Naxat?
>>12462517Pretty sure the weird Gundam stuff was Naxat, not Compile. They did SD Gundam on SFC + stuff like Blazing Lazers and Recca. Similar vibe though, same era of devs who cared more about systems and feel than straight adaptations.

>>12460595I don’t like pinball much, but I’ve been really enjoying Devil Crush so far (PCE version)
>>12462941The Spriggan mecha, not really sure their influence though. Guy named Goro, but that’s about it.
>>12460595Where the FUCK is my US release Aleste compilation? And I don't want any of this GG Aleste, I want MSX, SNES Aleste and MUSHA.Where the FUCK is a re-release of Blazing Lazers?Where the FUCK is Zaleste? What the FUCK.
>>12463331mobile suit looking ass also not Ryusei
a single loop in a Compile game is way too fucking long
>>12463514?
>>12463314Nice
Compile made the best shmup music. The Robo Aleste soundtrack is definitely one of their best soundtracks, along with Super Aleste, Zanac Neo, and Spriggan 2.
>>12464202>Compile made the best shmup musicBruh what lol
>>12464202Toaplan has the best shmup music and it's not even close. They're probably up there with the best game music ever, honestly.
I want to MARRY my wife System D.P.
>>12463625Compile makes console shmups with long campaigns, the ones I've played aren't even loopable.
>>12460595God what incredible art.
>>12464403I got this high res scan, here have this. It is great. This era had some of the best Japanese art, it's unreal. Especially on the MSX, Mega Drive and PC Engine.
>>12464416And this from a game art thread.
>>12464418
>>12460595They could almost be considered a second party dev for SegaThey've been making games for Sega consoles since the SG-1000
>>12464230>>12464395Seems like we all have our own opinions. I'll say this though, Compile's best soundtracks (the CD ones basically) are all very 90s era house inspired music so you'd have to like that genre to enjoy them.
Aleste is trash, Touhou is the best.
>>12464416>>12464418Thanks anon
>>12464603Touhou is gay though, anon. This post is very low quality.
