Did it deserve the 10/10 IGN gave it?
>>
Yes. GG wishes it had a Sonic game as great as Pocket.
>>
It's basically just Sonic 2, so yeah
>>
Is dogshit, there's a good reason why SEGA hides it; they have released all Sonicware but Pocket Adventure.

>Sonic 2 without the annoying bs
12/10

good when it came out but no reason to play it now when any handheld device can just play real sonic 2

>basically just Sonic 2
Not Sonic Advance 0?
>>

Pocket Adventure level design got more annoying bs though.
Even if not as much as Advance 2, 3 and (not retro) DS platformers.
>>12462998
Both, in a way.

It's the Sonic Mania equivalent for the 16-bit linage.
>>
Sonic was too fast for the Wonderswan Crystal eh?

Sonic Origins sucks and Segger is trying to WEF all the previous Taxman ports of Genny Sonic

Yes... it's classic Sonic, and classic Sonic is always good, at least more often than not when done well, I'd say it deserved the 10 comfortably.

His posture, face and arms placement makes me think he's being a perv and showing someone how fast he can jerk off. SNK does what SegWon't

Its one of the best 2D Sonic games ever made. Its very similar to Sonic 2.

Sadly its not in any Sega/Sonic compilations, nor is it in any NGPC compilations, so playing it these days requires using an emulator unless you're willing to drop an absurd amount of money on an actual Neo Geo Pocket Color and a cart. I owned one when I was young (back in like 2008), but lost a job and had to sell it. I regretted doing so but I needed to eat. A blue camo console, carrying case, plus 13 games and I got $90 for it. I still regret it but playing the NGPC collections on my Steam Deck takes some of the pain away.

At least you sold it, I gave it away as a kid to my sibling's now-ex because I assumed they would marry into the family and I preferred the Game Gear control pad over the SNK control stick.

Thank god I got mine and around 10 games almost 20 years ago. Fuck paying current prices.
>>
It's fine, but I think it suffers from some of the DIMPS trappings of cheap shots and excess bottomless pits, at least in the later parts of the game.
It gets a bit frustrating on your first playthrough.

Mine was in one of the "Pocket Color Arcade" rebrand packs that were selling at EB Games (pic related except mine was blue camo).

The system was upside down in the package, and instead of Pac-Man mine had a second copy of Neo Turf Masters, so I think whoever packed it at the warehouse was drunk or something.

This was how i got mine. Also got a 4 pack of extra games. The games were randomized mostly. I know one i didn't get but was in with one of the systems was the crossover with all the chicks. Apparently Faseili was one you could have also gotten. I remember VGP Canada or Knights Discounts were also selling loose carts for like three bucks each in the mid 2000s. Got metal slug 2nd mission and dark arms that way, but missed out on dive alert and the snk vs capcom card games. There were not many us releases to begin with so you could have probably gotten the system plus entire US library for under 100 when it was all liquidated.

okay, mariotehplumber

>>12464750
really? the one thing i found interesting about this game was there was barely any pits compared to the next dimps games
>>
>>12464734
I got mine, NGPC(Slim), a few years ago and it came with the good flashcart for like $160 total. I just cannot take the watch battery cover off because I'm afraid I'll break it.

You used to be able to order dirt cheap NGPC games from Lik-Sang back in the day.

Then Sony found out that they were shipping PSPs to European customers before its street date, threw a complete shitfit, and sued them into oblivion.

It was one of the best portable sonic games you could get prior to the Advance series. Plus it was a mix of Sonic 2 and 3, the best of the genesis era
