Anyone know games that similar soundtracks, worlds, aesthetics, or feel to Unreal 1998? I know Deus Ex is the same engine and composer, some of the devs too right? Serious Sam sometimes feels like it when the cartoonish carnage is turned down, but this isn't the best example. Looking at Doom wads too. I've played Temple of the Lizard Men, not so good.

>>12464074Turok 1-3 have a similar looking sci fi setting while also being focused on exploration, and has that somewhat slower paced quake 2 style of retro fps which unreal also has.
Woe to the untrained ear
Age of wonders games has Michiel van den Bos as composer and the Cruser No Regret/No Remorse games have Andrew Sega as composer, all these have tracker music that sounds similar to the Unreal Engine games

Not that I'm trying to imply that its better than Unreal in any way but Outcast has a nice 90s jank feel with a world that is both alien and familiar/comfy at the same time. Something that Unreal does for me too
>>12464074>musicGo Alex!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2idyeFWdmA>worlds, aestheticsI might be retarded, but to me wizardry 8 reminded me a lot of first unreal. There's a lot of fantasy stuff too, but unlike M&M scifi elements are present from the beginning and you get guns very early into the game
>>12464074I found this website years ago archiving tracks by the guys behind Unreal and similar circles of 90s tracks. I'll search my bookmarks tomorrow.
>>12468637>wizardry 8there's definitely a similar visual vibe>>12468663nice
>>12468663This would be very cool. I use a lot of the ut99 tracks for ASMR and throw in bittersweet symphony too for that custom map w the giant bathroom. Iykyk
>>12468637>ackchullyTubelectric wasn't by him, but Robert Allen. he did the remix for the second game, tho.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzpBLiM3AcA
>>12464074Well, in terms of music, there's UT (1999). Dude Sex too, as you mentioned. Other than that, just check out modarchive.org, many modules have similar vibes because they were made with the same technology and process.

>>12468804i can't believe i spent all these years thinking it was Brandon. I thought he was the guy behind epic pinball too. it's a shame shame Allen stopped working in gamedev, i'd love to hear more of his music.
>>12470732Most of the games he composed, he composed with others
