I can tell you from the SNES - It's this one.
The title is a clusterfuck: Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers The Movie

It's not perfect, it's actually super flawed. However, it's probably my most played game on that console.
It's so much fun and pretty short too. If a really simple game like that can keep me hooked, then it's quite an impressive feat.
Perfection i suppose.

Can’t wait for the remake of this to totally butcher it. At least they can’t erase the OG which imo is as good as it gets for a TPS.

Cliche but i feel the same way. But im a 64fag so for me the peak of Nintendo was the 64 and this was its magnum opus.

To just give a different answer imma have to go with Burnout 3. That is the tip-pity top for me for car racing games. Shame what came after for Criterion.

I find it interesting in all of three Max Payne games that you have the exact same skills and moves and health bar in the very first and the very last level. The only thing that changes during a playthru is your weapon selection which makes you play a bit differently (and some enemy difficulty variables iirc if you keep dying or winning). Not even the enemies or levels change that much except for different drapes in a slum or an office.

And still they have a pretty good replay value if you like that type of action even if you have basically side rolls, shootdodges and slowmo and that's it.

Some imperfections:
>you can just memorize all enemy placements and the game does very little to change them, and the first game has some corner campers and jump scares for first time players
>the constant quicksave-quickload routine before entering any room and after every successful battle might not be peak game design

Castlevania Circle of the Moon
>inb4 the seething pants shitters show up.
I play it at least once a year since it released on the gba.

None of them, and that's what makes them interesting. I accept that all of my favorite games are flawed and love them just the same.

Literally perfect.
>the scale
>the mix of different design philosophies (FPS, tactical planning, "flight sim")
>used the entire controller
>random placement of objectives keeping each run fresh
>the realism of encounter rates (more flak closer to AA sites; more fighter patrols closer to airfields)
>the voice as a helper and not merely a gimmick ("Fighters! Nine o'clock!")
>all of this from a 16K ROM on a system running at only 2Mhz
I think the argument could be made: Given the technological limitations of the hardware it was developed for, B-17 Bomber is one of the greatest games ever made.

I don't see how Deus ex could be done better without going into fantasy dream mode.

Doom. Though it feels a bit incomplete without the Doom 2 monsters. But unfortunately Doom 2's maps are garbage.
