It was always better than DDR.
>>12464738ITG charting is way betterDDR music is way betterAlthough, the soundtrack for the official ITGs is not bad. It's just not as kino as Cartoon Heroes and Captain Jack. Techno isn't as DDR-able as europop, I'll stand by that, even though the community seems to disagree, based on their choices for songs for their charts.
>>12464834Techno makes it easier to flood the chart with arrows. That's all.
>>12464738DDR had We Drink Ritalin though
>>12464834Yeah, the Eurodance is what carried early DDR. The newer games tend to be too fixated with multi-game crossover songs, so you get a LOT of shit that works for IIDX but not DDR.
>>12464738I'm trying to learn how to play this game but I keep getting fucking insanely tired and sweaty after only a few songs. No physical background for my entire life has fucked me over. I can only play up to 6s currently, and I because I can't play that much at a time I'll probably be stuck there for a while. The medium chart for Tell is fun, at least.
>>12466773Ok I played for an hour and then I had to take a 4 hour nap I am FUCKED
>>12466773>>12467024It's good cardio. Keep at it.
>>12466773>>12467024keep on groovin anon, drink plenty of water and keep pushing your limits.question for other anons: LTEK hard mat vs their soft mat stapled to thick mdf? I'm leaning towards the jank soft mat as it has pump it up controls too, which I've never played but people seem to like it.
>>12468012I'd say get the hard matA few things:1. The soft mat is still gonna be like $300+ if you take shipping into account, at that point it would be stupid to not just save more for the hard mat.2. It's not as easy to tell where your feet are on a soft mat, this is probably the main issue even with modded soft mats. They also tend to not last as long and they're harder to mess around with and fix any problems that arise.3. Pump It Up pads actually have different spacing of the panels. Pic related. As you can see, they're not perfectly in a grid. The diagonal arrows are larger and there's less space between them. The game expects you to be able to bracket (hit two panels with one foot) fairly easily at higher levels, and just have less distance between panels in general. You CAN play Pump with a 9 panel, but it will be harder and take a lot more energy. Imo, play it in the arcade first to see if you like it enough for a home setup. The difference here is that ITG really almost requires a home setup whereas Pump is still in arcades, so it makes more sense to buy a 4 panel pad unless you're super into Pump It Up.
>>12466773>>12467024I like this chart
bump
>carries the soundtrack singlehandedly
Been wanting to get one of those high end dance pads to play pirated ddr and whatever but I got down stairs neighbors and don't think I will ever live in a place where I don't.
>>12470367I think pirated DDR arcade data exists but Stepmania has existed for so long idk why you'd want to fuck around with thatUnless you mean DDR song packs for Stepmania in which case yeah you can play every single song from the seriesAlso there's a build of Stepmania 3.9 that is basically an exact replica of DDR Extreme https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewthread.php?threadid=5076
>>12470378Stepmania has been around so long that it actually acquired the Dancemania licenses for their StepmaniaX machines that are now being used in arcades. How crazy is that?
