Alright, you Banjo-Kazooie sluts. You may disagree if you're feeling sassy, but just so we're clear, my takes are objectively based and awesomesauce. May woe fall upon all the dissenters.
>>12465672I only like Grunty Industries and Rusty Bucket Bay
>>12465718How
>>12465672I always forget rusty bucket bay exists and I liked the mansion because I liked being a pumpkin and playing video games that involved entering buildings.
The worlds in BK are great but I do think SM64 had the right idea of allowing you to skip worlds. Since BK only has 9 of them tho, I'd say the player should be allowed to access Gruntilda after beating 7 worlds. That's fair. The player's relationship with a level (even an excellent one they really enjoy) can easily become strained if they know they're forced to do it. And if a lot of players skip a particular world, that kind of creates a beneficial counter-culture around it where the minority of players who do actually like it get to feel like they're part of the special cool kids club for liking it. People are going to look at your game a lot more fondly if you're not forcing them to do something they don't want to or just aren't mentally ready for. Also Click Clock Wood is long as fuck, and that's cool and all, but the fact it's a long (well over an hour for most casual newbies) level that prevents people from rushing to the end is a big source of angst.
>>12465672>click clock in highest tieropinion disregarded, it's shit.
>>12465718not only the good ones but yeah these are the two objective best stages
>>12466524Oh yeah you just reminded me, this video came out recently talking about the polarization of Click Clock Wood. I thought the entire video articulated the issue very well.https://youtu.be/Unq0GfgAT5Y?si=y_g4eerJtNt9KNA6TLDR - The idea that Click Clock Wood represents and the role it was trying to fulfill is a niche that sort of just doesn't exist anymore in today's age.
I hate the that fact Notes paying for moves in Tooie prevents you from doing levels out of order. Since literally every level requires you to backtrack anyway, there's no point in forcing the player to do them linearly. If Notes didn't pay for moves, you'd have complete freedom to do late game worlds way earlier and out of order
>>12465672Click Clock Wood is 100% GOAT, the first couple minutes I spent in there I realized it was the best level in the game
sigh..........
>CCW that highYou're dumb :)
>>12468373It literally only has 2 big problems>notes aren't displayed per season>there's no fly pad/shortcut to the top of the tree after the player climbs it onceI could nitpick a few small hiccups too but w/e. Everything else about that phenomenal level is inspired.
>>12469543>fall off tree>need to collect all the notes and all the jinjos in each season againA level that makes you play through it four more times because you died once is shit. :)
>>12465672>Nuts and Bolts listedUh oh retard alert
>>12467516You're retarded anon all the jiggy requirements in Tooie are very lenient you can get all the worlds unlocked like still 30+ Jiggies away from unlocking the Grunty fight and then start hitting the world's one after the other with the whole moveset. If the game forced you to backtrack there's no reason to try and do as much of the world as possible in the first go
>>12469584You call me retarded but you lack basic reading comprehension, gee whizz who's surprised? The chances you'll reflect on this and improve your behavior in the future are 0% I'm sure.I was specifically talking about Notes gating you from moves, which in turn means you can't do levels out of order. Sure you can OPEN Terrydactyland after getting only 20 Jiggies. But DOES that actually mean you can skip levels and play it out of order? No motherfucker, and that's 100% entirely because of the fact that you won't have enough Notes to pay for the moves in Terrydactyland. You CAN'T get the full moveset in the game unless you have all the Notes from all the worlds first. You can't actually skip shit because of this bullshit Note system.
>>12469623Just so you know, you've been talking with someone from a developing country with brown skin.
>>12469623Notes are in bundles of like 10-20 a pop you end up with enough notes far ahead of the rest of the levels collectibles. 70-100% of notes but like 3-5 Jiggies is achievable natty for the first 4-5 levels>>12469658I can tell, only brown hands could struggle with notes of all things in a Banjo game
>>12469658>>12469760That's fine with me, having brown skin or living in a different nation doesn't make someone inferior, or less of a person. Bigotry, racism and xenophobia does.
This shit was 1 level long and it was the best Banjo-Kazooie content we've ever received since the year 2000
>>12469565Skill issue
>>12465672Should have just included the first 2. None of us is going to buy a fucking 360 for the 3rd game.
>>12469820Real
I really liked Grunty's Revenge, I wish it weren't so short.
>>12472610I'd imagine N&B would be way more well received if it simply wasn't a BK game at all.
>>12473079I think you're on to something...
>>12473081While I did enjoy the lack of being confined to a cube grid, I still think the vehicle system in nuts and bolts is literally way fucking better than the one in tears. which is saying something cuz they both got some issues
>>12473079>>12473081Idk cuz honestly having all these BK characters to use for the purposes of dialogue and excuses to set up missions worked really well. The series familiarity helped with the character interactions. I think the way to do it would have been to just not have Banjo and Kazooie as the protagonists but DO still have the game set as a spinoff in the BK universe. Put Bumper or Timber as the protag instead and it'd have done well and you wouldn't need to change anything aside from removing Spiral Mountain from the game.
Thoughterinos on the fact Click Clock is the vidya equivalent of 10/10 saturday morning cartoons?
>>12475071What the FUCK does this mean
