When they ported the game to the switch a few years ago they very pointedly used the Sega Saturn version as a base, so authorial intent is to play the Sega Saturn version over the others.

I've seen this same question asked so many times that I'm actually confused, why are people so resistent to playing the Sega Saturn version? Emulation is very good now, it has a translation, what is the issue?

What saturn emulator is good? I played Baroque on PS1 and don't really care about the Saturn version, but I'd like an emulator that doesn't stutter every 5 seconds so I can play Sakura Wars or that Puyo Puyo mystery dungeon game.

The two best options right now are:
Mednafen (or the Beetle Saturn core on RetroArch, which is basically just a libretro port of Mednafen)
Ymir (not as "mature" as Mednafen but already really good. Has cool options like playing interlaced high res games in progressive scan so you don't have to use shaders to fix the interlacing)
