No one would have remembered this lackluster game if it weren't for the soundtrack, this is a tough fact for SA2 fags to swallow but it's true.It's basically popular for the same reason as Undertale, another kusoge with a good OST.SA1 is the only decent 3D Sonic game t.b.h. everything Sonic-related Sega released afterwards has been pure slop only enjoyed by people with a genuine lack of taste or regard for quality

I play this game muted with podcasts all the time.
the music is great but the chao garden is doing the real heavy lifting in terms of its legacy. Everyone I knew who loved this game back in the day spent wayyy more time and energy raising chaos than anything else. Absolutely unreal how retarded sega is for never bringing it back since. They truly hate their fans

SA2's stages are better. SA1 is also somehow even jankier. And the overworld sucks. The only thing SA1 has going for it is that the non-sonic stages are split into their own campaigns so you can just ignore them
