>>12468667lmao you're still at it, based schizo
>>12468506My sister bought me both and a lime gbc. Even as a kid I was disappointed that it was the same game with a few different spawns instead of being a different world and storyline but I ended up playing both and just using different monsters.

>>12468506blue because it was my favorite color
>>12468506blueTurtle with Shell Guns is better than Generic Dragon
>>12468510Same. Would have otherwise picked blue but I think ours came with the GBC. Beating Brock with Pikachu (because we were RPing goobers) was frustrating. I still remember when we did it.
>get red, yellow, and silver in a value village sack in 2007 for $3>trade yellow for special CT forces, sister plays red and I play silver
>>12468506Red, but chose Squirtle. Looking back, Blue had the cooler exclusives overall, outside of a couple like Arcanine and Scyther.
>Nintendo couldn't even be bothered to invent different worlds for thesestructurally, what happened to the company in the mid-90's?
>>12470594Arbok > SandslashVileplume > VictreebelPrimeape > PersianArcanine > NinetalesScyther > PinsirElectabuzz = MagmarRed was better for sure
>>12468506Blue and Gold
I was Blue, and I have never forgiven society in general for seemingly deciding that Red was the "proper" version.
>>12470798Wow, you hard favor red. I'd put arcanine and ninetales as equal, and I prefer persian over primeape. Electabuzz over Smegmar. I prefer red for sure, but Blue did have some neat ones.
>>12469060You have a containment board for a reason, use it.
>>12470594>>12470798>>12472590Arcanine wasn't really good until Gen 4/5. With it's terrible special and it's effectively a glorified normal type in Gen 1, with glaring weaknesses. Ninetales is a glasscannon but it's much better at being a fire type.I can see Red's Pokemon being visually cooler, but most of them are less effective even in game thanks to stats and limited movesets.
>>12472590>I'd put arcanine and ninetales as equalNinetales is better than every other pokemon on that list besides Arcanine, if it was up against any other it would win but too bad.I personally also like electabuzz over magmar but the anime episode where charizard fights magmar elevates him to at least equal. >>12473171how gay are you?
>>12473182Anon I like Arcanine but his stats are weird for the first three generations. Great speed and attack, but lacking STAB.
>>12473489In gen 1 many pokemon had limited move pools and relied on normal moves as an attack outside their type. Arcanaine is fine. Fire in general is just not really needed in gen 1. There's nothing wrong with it. >>12473171>I can see Red's Pokemon being visually cooler, but most of them are less effective even in game thanks to stats and limited movesets.Sort of, but also... not really. Circling to fire type not being relevant, poison also doesn't have a place in gen 1, so yea that makes Arbok less viable, but it gets glare, which is really neat. Primeape is one of the fastest fighting types with all around decent stats....again the typing. Scyther and Pinsir pretty much both suck for not having a bug move, had one of them had one that'd have been big. Gloom's Petal Dance is neat, sure Weepinbells Razor Leaf is better due to glitches, both are viable. Really, if you sit down and play red or blue, you got some neat options and choices.
>>12468506I downloaded a Green Version rom because I loved Bulbasaur
>>12468506Blue because it's my favorite color. Turns out the color blue is often associated with autism so I never even had a chance to be normal.
>>12468506How could you not go with blue? The game sprites were so much better.
>>12468506Red of course. It says a lot about you if you associated with a fat, retarded turtle with drainpipes on its back rather than Chadrizard.
>>12468506It's Yellow for me nowadays, but my first was Blue, then some faggot threw my cart in the mud, so I went Red.

my favorite color is blue but at the time i preferred the version exclusives of red so my brother got blue
>>12468506blue>red>yellow
>>12468506Unironically Green.
>>12468513>>12470998>>12477165Somehow I also ended up with Blue and Gold. I definitely didn't pick them, but I'm also definitely now biased towards the ones I had. I see three "blue and gold" posts (not counting mine, which makes four) in the thread above this post, and two posts that reference owning red and silver together. None for either of the other combinations. How did it work out that way?
>>12475640associating a color to your mental illness is more autistic
I got blue because my mom picked it out. I was super happy to get any pokemon game(and a kiwi green 'boy), but was internally sperging a bit because I thought it meant I couldn't get Charizard. When I found out I could still get him it was all good. It actually worked out because I'm red/green color blind, so the gbc palette for blue where everything is blue but the character sprites are red really pleased my eyes. If I had gotten red it would've been red overworld with green sprites, which looks odd to me.
>>12473171Oh yeah, from a competitive standpoint, Blue is undeniably better. Coolness is subjective, I could go with either, but lean towards Blue because I love Meowth and Sandslash. Arcanine is awesome though and made me happy with Red as a kid.

>>12479750I'm aware of this as an adult, but I was 6 when I got blue version. I just really enjoyed the default palette. I later found out about a blue palette for links awakening(non dx version obv), so the greycart version is my favorite way to play that game. There really should be more monochrome blue games. They look nice.
>>12479750>you can change the gbc color palettes, that seems like a fact a color blind person should know>get rekt stupid kid hahahaha
>>12468510i got yellow and my siblings each got red or blue. still have that yellow cart and my gameboy pocket to this day, it still works too.i dont even think we asked for pokemon games. it was just given to us randomly so im surprised our parents were that based bc they had no clue what the hell pokemans was. but then again they did also get us a Saturn too, they somehow made more based decisions than my dumbass would have as a kid most likely.
Blue, because I wanted to use Sandshrew and Meowth.Turned out Bellsprout was also better than its red counterpart.Everything went better than expected.
