>>12472356This and Spiderman 1 were two of the most kino (Kinoest?) games on 6th gen. I had 1 on GC and 2 on PS2. The extra content in Spiderman 1 was legendary. It blew my mind that you could play the entire game as Green Goblin. I've replayed the neversoft Spiderman on PS1, but not this game, might be time for a run-through of Spidey 1 and 2 for the PSDouble.
WHAT WOULD SPIDERMAN BE IF HE WASN'T A SUPERHERO?HE'D BE... MAN.IS THAT WHAT YOU WANNA PLAY? "MAN 3"?
man what the FUCK were they thinking?
>>12472819>Spiderman 1 was legendaryNo one ever fucking talks about this game and it honestly pisses me off. It was a great game especially for being so early in the consoles lifespan. It reminds me of how much sucking off Sonic 2 gets when I much prefer Sonic 1 over it.
>>12473224you're really gonna diss my bio Sonic 2 like that
>>12472819The cheats on that game were so fucking fun
>>12472819Never knew you could play the game as green goblin. That’s pretty cool. Does he have his own playstyle or is just a skin?I booted up Spiderman on the ps4 and checked out the unlockable costumes and they are so lame compared to the psx/n64 - ps2/cube/xbox ones. I mean even enter Electro has better costumes including my favorite comic book series The Slingers by adding in Prodigy as an unlockable skin. I haven’t actually played enter Electro how is that game? Is it on par w the other Spiderman games from that gen?
>>12472808Bruce Campbell is a treasure.
>>12473904You can play the whole game as Green Goblin. You have access to the glider for situations where you'd use web to do vertical areas as spidey.
>>12473950Yea that’s pretty damn cool.
>>12472808I really miss having asshole allies in games like the Duck Hunt dog, Falco and Bruce Campbell.
>>12472356I haven't gotten around to beating this one, got more focused on the Neversoft series with the PS1, GBC and GBA titles, but I feel now's the right time to get back into this, the webslinging is still unmatched in its momentum, and I love the combat, similar to the Arkham style that got praised years later, but with fun ragdoll physics. Spider-Man titles were peak.
>>12473904Not only his own playstyle, he has his own fucking alternate storyline (no cutscenes, so the story is only told through voiceover dialgue, but still)
>>12474084Yea I really need to go back and play it again. Did you ever play enter electro and if so how was it?
>>12473861I didn't mean to come off so psychotic, but it does bother me how much slurping people do towards single entries of series and then don't even bother playing other games in the same series or claim they're "aged" or "bad" because they A) didn't grow up with them or B) are missing like 2-3 features which can easily be played around with practice or experience in that specific game. Another good example is how much people dick ride Vice City over GTA 3. The games are essentially gameplay wise very similar, but you'll have people claim VC is lightyears ahead despite being filled with glitchy sidewalks and terrain because the game was made in about 10 months. I don't want to say they're bad games, but FFS try to look at things a bit more objectively and using the "aged poorly" excuse is just a cop out for lack of skill and practice to learn how a game works.
>>12474271Sonic 2 gets glazed so much because it probably was the first experience a lot of people had w the series. I know it was called Sonic 2 but I only ever got to play video games at my buddies house when I was young and this was the only game he really owned (we rented games every weekend but always played a ton of Sonic 2 no matter how good or bad the rental was). To this day, I still haven’t played Sonic 1. I don’t have anything against it, I’m sure it’s a fine game, but it just feels like most people in America who had a Genesis had Sonic 2. Not sure, wasn’t it a pack in game w the system at one point? Similarly mega man 2 is the same way. It was my first experience w Mega Man. Same thing for Tmnt, the second game on the nes was based off the arcade which is just a much more fun experience w coop then the single player hard as nails 1st one. I don’t even recall if there was a Tmnt 1 arcade game in the vein of 2 and 3 the Manhattan project. During this era, sequels just seemed to dominate to the point of memory holing the first. Just how it played out for whatever reason. Now I need to go play the first sanic, for sure.
>>12474271III is the best GTAVice City is a better III
>>12474265NTA but Enter Electro is pretty decent, though it gets sandwiched between the superior Spider-Man (2000) and Spider-Man (2002) sadly. All of the titles from this time were good though, Spider-Man (2000) on PS1/N64, the upgraded DC/PC ports, the "inferior" GBC port, the PS1 sequel Enter Electro, the GBC sequel The Sinister Six and a GBA sequel/spinoff Mysterio's Menace. I'd give all of these a shot if you like the IP since they're all well made and relatively short to pick up and beat.
>>12474949Awesome thanks! And definitely giving u the positive vibes because Scarlet Spider is my favorite Spider-man.
>>12475386No problem, anon! Love him also, it's great that his costume is unlockable in both the PS1 titles, love using it.
>>12475550Ben Reilly is all time. Sick of this Miles Morales bs being pushed when in a better timeline we would have Scarlet Spider truly taking up the mantle of the Spider or being his ally. But we all know why Miles will be favored over Ben even tho we already have 2099 Spider-man whose Hispanic.
>>12473165Good mobile game (for PC)
>>12475583Same, and we never had an alternate Spider-Man being as pushed as he is, and he's the blandest of them all, but as you said we know why this happens and it's a shame, every new piece of Spider-Man media I have to deal with that pathetic excuse for a character being there, often in the spotlight and making Peter Parker look bad so he can look much better. It's tiresome.
>>12475813Yea I heard that for the ps5 spiderman game w Miles in it they make Peter an asshole or something and Miles has to save the day and rescue Peter from himself. It’s all so tiring. Would make much more sense for his clone to be in that position but yea…. I don’t even know if Reilly has been killed off again or what since I stopped reading the comics years ago because they got so bad. Apparently “one more day” I think it’s called tanked spider-man comics from what I’ve heard and they really never recovered from that.Either way I definitely need to check out enter electro. May be my next retro purchase.
>>12475965Indeed, that's the comic book where Peter makes a pact with Mephisto, pretty much the Devil for the Marvel universe, to save Aunt May's life, and the price is his marriage with MJ, which is why they're no longer a married couple. It was pathetic and I stopped taking comic books seriously after that, after years of Marvel making dumb mistakes, this one was just too much.Make sure to post about Enter Electro when you get it, maybe a thread, it's cool to see these titles talked about here. Cheers!
>>12476563For sure. Appreciate the info too
