I just beat it for the first time ever after putting it down as a kid, it really is as good as they say. What game should I play next? I'm not to familiar with the Zelda series (this was my first zelda game).

Go for MM and TP

Majora's Mask is the most direct sequel to OoT, so it's natural to play it after, and basically takes the game and turns it into something much more focused on NPC interaction and sidequests. It's the best at this, but you might find it somewhat repetitive to experience right after playing OoT.

The NES games are focused really well on challenging combat and free exploration if that's what you're after, and are the strongest at this in the series. They lack the atmosphere and storytelling of many of the later games though.

The Gameboy games (Link's Awakening, Oracles etc.) are closer to jack of all trades, with well balanced merits in their various aspects, but with standout dungeon design.

Ocarina is pretty much the ideal introduction to the series. The other games can be great, but naturally nothing else is quite as well put together as it, so while there's a lot to look forward to, there's a reason why it gets singled out.

I can't actually recommend playing A Link to the Past unless you really want to specifically, because, despite its acclaim and popularity here, it honestly doesn't do much that the other game don't do at least as well.

If someone recommends you to play Twilight Princess you can ignore their opinion

Twilight Princess is even better.

Just go with Majora's Mask, It is very similar to Oot, but with a more depressed and dark story.

The original Zelda (Zelda I and II) you really don't need to play, they don't add that much to the Zelda standard experience.

You don't "need" to play them, but they are 2 of the best games on the NES, and a lot of the Zelda staples began there.
They are worth trying, even if you are a zoomer that will get filtered by the difficulty
At the very least you should try them.

So right now.

Shitty bait thread

what are you being baited into?

Majora's Mask is polarizing. I personally think it's one of the worst 3D Zeldas ever made. Some people like it but be aware that it's not a straightforward adventure like Ocarina of Time is.
Anyway I'd say go with Wind Waker if you want another 3D game or Link's Awakening if you want to play the best 2D Zelda.

Well unless you're one of those people that think Majoras Mask is one of the best games of all time then unfortunately you just played the best 3D zelda and it's all down hill from here. Either way play Majoras Mask and then you can just drop the series. Pretty much all the traditional style 2d games are decent, some are kind of boring and really easy though. I mean all zelda games are easy but some a lot more than others.

Just admit you playes Ship of Harkinian with Henriko Magnifico graphics and "qol fixes" cheats OP.

>Just admit you playes Shi pof Harkinian
I did because it was recommended to me but I don't see how much it changes up the game besides additional FPS, i didn't use mods or cheats to beat it.

MM and TP seem to be the main two i'm being recommended, i've begun MM today so i'll report back (if this thread doesn't die) my progress.

hey OP, I'm currently playing SOH version too. Just got to the spirit temple and my controller analog stick broke lol. I beat MM beforehand and was incredibly disappointed, it's not a great game in my opinion. every time you start to have fun you have to restart the timeline and are reminded how much better OOT is. if you want OOT vibes I highly recommend Windwaker (OG gamecube version), Minish Cap on GBA and the Links Awakening remake on YuZu. Avoid Twilight Princess, and everything after, absolute garbage.

These are The Correct Zelda Opinions.

The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in this game. Unfortunately, you’re never going to play a Zelda game again with such a great ost. It had the perfect blend of arranged classic tracks, and most of the new pieces became series staples.
