Underrated game, baby difficulty but it's still a fun weekend game and has a bitchin OST. Unironically more enjoyable than the other FF games on the snes.
i wanted to live in fireburgamazing how tiny it is when you view the whole thing at once
If you love Mystic Quest, give Treasure of the Rudras a try. A lot of the same people worked on it (Both were Square's Osaka branch, they also did SaGa 3 on Game Boy). Same director and one of the composers (Ryuji Sasai) is the same too, so there's some awesome music.
>>12473597next time you make a thread do you mind presenting your opinions as your opinions instead of easily disprovable lies? I dont know when sharing your opinion online became inherently antagonistic.

>>12473597>baby difficulty>Unironically more enjoyable than the other FF games on the snes. These statements seem to contradict each other. Can you articulate why it's unironically better than 4, 5 and 6?
>>12473597Mystic Quest is a very "rated" game. Everyone says the same thing; it's easy and mediocre and has almost no story. And if that's what you're looking for, it delivers it well.
>>12473874Yet somehow it does standout as fun to me. Maybe I just like some minimalism
a 10hr 8/10 adventure is just better than a 40hr 9/10 adventure
FFMQ is not as easy as people make it out to be. Issue is most people really don't understand what even constitutes difficulty in an rpg. The game is simplified and distilled to essentials, and you can 'retry' any battle you lose. But that's really it. In terms of actual boss threat levels and pressure to make good decisions or lose the battle, MQ is probably 'harder' than all the mainline FF games.
>>12473609There's something weirdly cozy about these types of locations in old JRPGs. By that I mean towns that are built in dangerous/inhospitable environments.
>>12473597It's the only FF I liked, because you can see enemies on the map like in Chrono Trigger.
>>12474416There are a couple of tricky bosses, yes, but you can't have much familiarity with FF to say that. There's nothing in MQ that's even within squinting distance of shit like Last Mission.
>>12474416Yep, the amount of status conditions that monsters gave you in the latter part of the game is insane. Definitely not the baby rpg it is made out to be.
>>12474954And you can always retry each battles until you don't get hit by status effects.
>>12473957The jumping and item interaction was really fun coming out of dragon quest and ff4
>>12473761>Can you articulate why it's unironically better than 4, 5 and 6?It cuts out the fat. Other FF games are rarely super difficult but they like to dress it up with so many systems and items and it often just feels like a chore. Here you're in you're out. It doesn't waste your time.
mystic quest's biggest problem is that it was literally made as an insult
>>12474752Last Mission? You mean the spinoff of the spinoff X-2? I said mainline FF.
>>12474430>By that I mean towns that are built in dangerous/inhospitable environments.Another game like this is the original Megami Tensei where starting town is only a floor above the first dungeon.
>>12476069What do you consider to be mainline FF, and why do you think it is somehow easier than Mystic Quest? Mystic Quest is one of the easiest games in the entire series; I'd be hard pressed to name any RPGs by Square which are easier.
>>12475346>steal the formula for RPGs from Americans>dumb it down tremendously for your own people>sell it back to Americans>?????>gaslight yourself into believing that Americans are too dumb for rpgs somehow
Phoebe is mai waifu.
>>12476294that's exactly it. FFIV itself was dumbed down, too. JRPGs were literally designed to be western RPGs that children could play with a controller.

Final Fantasy Adventure aka Seiken Densetsu, is called Mystic Quest in yurop, and Mystic Quest, Mystic Quest Legends.

chat was the quest actually mystical?
>>12477046>steal the logo from another country>it's not even the same game>don't even bother using transparency>uh here's some grainy downsampled armor from some museumJust yuropoor things.

>>12477061>doesn't steal a logoTry again.
>>12477065literally too lazy to steal, too lazy to do anything besides delete text and type new text. too lazy to change the FONT for their new game. At least with the shitty armor quest they spent time doing something.
>>12477073Nice bait. That Zelda logo is America's own thing. They are allowed to reuse it. Unlike your lazy yuropoor ass who steals a logo from a shitty spinoff. Pathetic.

>>12477061>dragging jpeg of Mystic Quest logo on top of random photo of armor>backspacing over "link to the past" and typing "link's awakening"it's a tie at best. at least link's awakening's cover cared enough to reuse something that actually looked good and took effort to make in the first place.
>>12477145The American logos were their own fucking logos. Eurokikes stole their logo, and it's literally just a shitty font ontop of a black background. Euros are so fucking retarded, holy shit.

Got it for Xmas at the ripe old age of 11 because I'm a poorfag and ff2 was still like 80 bucks. I played through it over the next week in between Dad making me play outside because it was a really warm winner and he wanted to watch shitty TV. Super fond of it in my memory. I'm sure as a schitzo old person talking about little kid games on the Internet I might not enjoy a replay. 8 stars out of 10
>>12476372Unfathomably based
>>12481684My brotherI renter ff2 once and it was great and I wanted to play more. it was almost my birthday so we went to buy it. Huh, this is Final Fantasy and I don't see anything else and this sort of looks similar? I guess this is it.... take it home, we'll this is obviously different but still pretty cool.
