"Hey, we wanna keep the gameplay faithful, so you know what was REALLY fun during the original game, having the course drag your car along to where IT thinks you should be in our fully 3D game instead of coming up with a physics model like we were willing to do for Sega Rally Revo."I always do this thing where I find something I've never heard of, think it's cool as hell, get far enough in it to realize that it's not good, then have too much sunk cost fallacy to give it up.
>arcade game>arcade physics
>>12475003Plenty of arcade racing games out there where the game doesn't pick up your car and send it into the wall without your input.
>>12475005skill issue
>>12475210It's okay, game devs sometimes make mistakes.
>>12475005Outrun isn't really a racing game in the way Virtua Racing or Burnout are. It's more of a casual sunday drive simulator, which isn't a bad thing, but yeah if they're going to remake it they should stick to that. I have the M2 3DS port which is perfect and beautiful so any remake is irrelevant anyway.
>>12475634I wouldn't call it a remake, it was called Outrun 2 in arcades and in a lot of the game's modes. It's meant to be a sequel.
>>12474989The 2007 Sega Rally game is so damn good
>>12474989I have no complaints with how Outrun 2/2006 feels. However I do not appreciate the addition of slipstream which makes the game too easy
>>12476259I don't like how all the faster cars feel like they're completely uncontrollable compared to the base cars. Also Jennifer's challenges suck major dick.
>>12476045agreed, really underrated
>>12476259>>12476434The slipstream makes the slow cars fast and the fast cars even faster which adds to the challenge of dodging and weaving
Fucking Special Request 3 Tulip Garden is why I hate this game's handling>first "keep your speed up" challenge is so simple that there's no real way to "do it better" you just need a faster car, but the second challenge is so technical that if you go with a car any faster than the slowest then you will always be dragged towards the edge of the curve for no good reason and be forced to slow down by the grass
>>12476045Even on a controller the vibration is tuned to make it feel like you're feeling the vibrations as you go across bumps, and I like how the wheel trails on the track actually effect your handling slightly.
