"Hey, we wanna keep the gameplay faithful, so you know what was REALLY fun during the original game, having the course drag your car along to where IT thinks you should be in our fully 3D game instead of coming up with a physics model like we were willing to do for Sega Rally Revo."

I always do this thing where I find something I've never heard of, think it's cool as hell, get far enough in it to realize that it's not good, then have too much sunk cost fallacy to give it up.

Outrun isn't really a racing game in the way Virtua Racing or Burnout are. It's more of a casual sunday drive simulator, which isn't a bad thing, but yeah if they're going to remake it they should stick to that. I have the M2 3DS port which is perfect and beautiful so any remake is irrelevant anyway.

I wouldn't call it a remake, it was called Outrun 2 in arcades and in a lot of the game's modes. It's meant to be a sequel.

I don't like how all the faster cars feel like they're completely uncontrollable compared to the base cars. Also Jennifer's challenges suck major dick.

The slipstream makes the slow cars fast and the fast cars even faster which adds to the challenge of dodging and weaving

Even on a controller the vibration is tuned to make it feel like you're feeling the vibrations as you go across bumps, and I like how the wheel trails on the track actually effect your handling slightly.
