>2023>Can play games at 80-90% speed on my laptop, some graphical and audio glitches, not ideal but "playable" if you trudge through the annoyances>2026>games run at two frames per second, and if you use OpenGL it crashes and will refuse to reopen unless you delete the settings folderHow can an emulator devolve this much? what the fuck happened? in terms of progress it's like the anti-PCSX2
Man, I remember when PCSX2 was plugin based, that was fucking awful. It's nice that it became a pretty great emulator.About xemu I imagine they're chasing accuracy at the moment and put optimization on the back burner, I agree it's not ideal.
>>12475024Windows issue
>>12475029Thats how I remember my first PS1 emulator being. Had to plug in all this different bullshit, so gay
>>12475180I'm on Linoox thoughever
>>12475024Accuracy costs performance, you dumb nigger. Every emulator gets slower as compatibility improves. You worry about clawing some of that back via optimization when you reach a decent state with actually running the software library you're targeting. I could emulate most PS2, GameCube and Wii games at full speed on my Phenom II X3 720 back in 2009, because those emulators were a lot less demanding (and less accurate back then). I still remember when Dolphin 4.0 came along in 2013 and suddenly everything ran like shit because they'd made a ton of accuracy improvements and my shitty CPU no longer cut the mustard. But instead of crying about it like a little bitch I just upgraded to a 4790K the following year.>in terms of progress it's like the anti-PCSX2PCSX2 spent a fucking decade in maintenance mode before Stenzek came along and fixed their shit for them a few years ago.
>>12475024They had an anti-piracy virtue signaling phase and chose to implement hurdles that not only don't stop pirates but also tank performance.
>>12475350>but also tank performance. How so, in concrete terms?
>>12475350>download redump iso>have to convert to xisoWhy can't they fucking treat it like a modded xbox does? execute the xbe and be done with it
>>12475024Why does Xenia run better than this? 360 was more powerful & used a stranger chipset (3 core PPC vs. x86)
>>12475374Xenia actually has games people want to play, so it gets more attention from emu devs. The OG Xbox was a Halo machine, and nowadays that can be played on PC. Almost everything else on the console could be played on PC or PS2.
>>12475024this garbage doesnt even support MKB or even the leaked demo of starcraft ghost unlike CBXreload
>>12475367because they let retarded trannies get involved.PCSX2 had the same fucking period in the 2010's where it couldn't even run half of the japanese only library like KOF:MIR:A because of internal shenanigans over JP releases.
>>12475589Cxbx-Reloaded is a joke and an inherently dead-end project. It has much lower overall compatibility than Xemu, whatever examples you wish to cherrypick. HLE will never produce worthwhile results in the long run. Its only use is allowing retarded brown third worlders (such as yourself) to play things on a dilapidated shitbox. Xemu may or may not one day play every Xbox game in an accurate manner, but we already know that Cxbx-Reloaded never will.
>>12475024>>12475248So what you're saying is, use old emulators if you have shit hardware. Got it.While this is actually sound advice, don't play unverified romhacks or dumps on Project64 1.4/1.6 or ZSNES since infected ROMs can take advantage of arbitrary code execution exploits in these emulators and fuck up your PC.
>>12476278>infected ROMs can take advantage of arbitrary code execution exploits in these emulators and fuck up your PC.fucking lmao, what? really? you have a source on that?would be actually interested in reading the technical explanation if true.
>>12476332>you have a source on that?Yeah the source is called computers. The emulator is executing code on your machine, and if it's a shoddily designed emulator then it will execute the malicious code I embedded into your game.
Which Xbox emulator ought I use then?
>>12477437xemu
>>12475024OpenGL is probably abandoned already. Use vulkan or dx.>>12475245>linuxYeah that could be a problem too.
Emu-what? Why? I have all the games right on this hard drive. No emulation bugs, no emulation lag, no rendering errors, 100% accurate to the real experience because it IS the real experience.
>>12477557The loading speed and algorithms dependent on them will never be the real experience unless you're playing off a DVD.
>it IS the real experiencelollmao even
>>12476332He named specific versions of those emulators. I would assume they have public exploits. Any software could have unknown vulnerabilities (that's what the "it's called computers" anon means, charitably) but it's obviously a lot more risky to use software that everyone who cares about hacking software already knows is vulnerable.
>>12475024There's no perfect Xbox emulator, is there? I just want to be able to play Batman Begins perfectly with no issues. Guess I'll get my disc repaired, so I can play it on my original Xbox instead.
>>12477598(you) sound upset.
>>12475192never forget pete's plugins
>>12477592Xbox games load to a hard drive from a DVD so this is the real experience.
>>12475024>Xemunever herd of it. but i hardly care Xboner games, since the best versions were usually on PC anyway.>>12475192>>12475029ePSXe is just fine. though older versions run faster(Ver 1.70 is peak for me). you only need the newer bogged down ones for compatibilites for some other shit i don't play.
>>12477696They cache some things to the hard disk but they don't cache everything.>>12477702>ePSXe is just fineCunt it can't handle the voice clips in Mega Man Legends 1/2 properly
>>12477704>Mega Man Legends 1/2 properlymust be a shit game since i don't play it.
