Was Animaniacs really still popular enough with kids in 2005 that they made a shovelware tie-in game to sucker kids into buying the game? It ended in 1998, technically 1999 with that movie, but it got this game.
>>
Looked at some random gameplay, it doesn't look that bad. Maybe a little uninspired for a 3D platformer, but it seems true to the show.

I've never actually played the game, I'm just wondering if Animaniacs really was still popular and relevant with the kids in 2005? That's my guess for why this game exists. Either that or because Animaniacs is basically a spinoff of Looney Tunes and could be easily confused for Looney Tunes.
>>
slow devs be slooooow
>>
Was Animaniacs still being rerun in the mid 2000s? I feel like my last memory of seeing it on TV was in the very early 2000s, and while obviously not that much of a time gap, it's enough for me to wonder why they'd bother releasing such a licensed game at that point, especially one which would ride almost entirely on kids wanting it because they like the cartoon.
>>
Don't know, don't care. Next thread.
>>
>>12477619
My only guess is that Animaniacs could be mistaken as a Looney Tunes series considering that it had the same style of humor as Looney Tunes and it's even considered a spinoff.

and no, Animaniacs wasn't still being rerun when this game came out. That being said, it did rerun on TV again around 2012-2014 on a half hour toy commercial network owned by Hasbro that mostly just aired Hasbro stuff and shows from other companies that were tied to big brands like Looney Tunes, Batman, and Ninja Turtles.

i loved that game as a kid but it kinda sucked looking back.

>>12477471
it has forced mini games and some of them kinda suck.
>>
It had reruns and a vocal fanbase
>>
>>12477467
The license was dirt-cheap enough to throw into any shitty shovelware game That's the only reason anybody bothered.
>>
It can't be any worse than the NES Gilligan's Island game 24 years after the show ended.
>>
>>12478264
Gilligan's island was a rerun staple in the 80s and 90s, you just have it rent free in your head.
>>
>>12478265
>you just have it rent free in your head
this phrase doesn't mean what you think it means
>>
>>12477467
I still remember when you first made this thread, and the question was answered then. Yeah Animaniacs was cancelled but lived on in reruns and obviously most people had heard of it
>>
>>12478490
Well someone sure as hell mentions it on this board constantly, and posts threads about it, and it ain't me
>>
>>12477467
Game was probably made for nostalgia for people who grew up with Animaniaca and the SNES.
>>
>>12477467
I remember seeing reruns on Kids WB but I don't remember if it lasted until 2005.
>>
>>12478630
It was on reruns on Nickelodeon for a long time in the early 2000s

>Nickelodeon edits Animaniacs and Pinly & The Brain's title sequences to recolor everything orange and plaster their name everywhere
It was a painful time.

>Was Animaniacs still being rerun in the mid 2000s?
Yes. The original 5 season run of Animaniacs aired on Nickelodeon from 2000 to 2005.

>>12477629
>no, Animaniacs wasn't still being rerun when this
game came out
I don't know the exact date this game came out, so maybe the TV run was over by then, but it doesn't matter. The cartoon was obviously still popular at that time, when it had just finished airing.

The timing of this game really isn't weird at all, especially considering that there had been a whole long running series of Animaniacs games before it. The commercial success of those games would have been a bigger factor than the popularity of the TV show when deciding to produce this game.

the worst is the dinosaur games.
those fucks have been dead for hundreds of millions of years and they think the kids still care about them.

If it was still in syndication then there was business sense in having licensed toys. Handheld games fit that bill nicely.

A lot of older cartoons had a shitload of re-runs in the 90s and early 2000s, following cable broadcasts or home releases.

No, just look at how much the game costs nowadays, it barely sold.
>>
>>12478741
Kids were obsessed with dinosaurs in the 90s
>>
Anything mentioned itt has nothing on choosing to release this game in 1992
>>
Am I crazy or was there some kind of reboot of it at some point? Anyway, Animaniacs on the SNES was actually not too bad, it could be a decent game so don't rule that out.
>>
>>12478927
The reboot was around the late 2010s or so and had Trump and Tucker Carlson jokes, there was no 2000s animaniacs with dubya jokes or anything

Three stooges got reran to hell and back, but the real insane thing is that this a port of the amiga game from the late 80s... and it got re released again recently.
>>
>>12477467
Why did this game perform poorly enough that it's become expensive and hard to find?
>>
>>12480672
A low print run because it was near the end of the Gamecube's life cycle is my guess

James Pond II bros...
We have competition
>>
>>12477467
Look, there's two kinds of kids, those who like animaniacs and those who don't like animaniacs.
