Imagine a picnic table with a single 4k monitor surrounded by empty beer cans, liquor bottles, and unsheathed used needles. Then imagine the Sea of Cans that I have to deal with to get to the desk. Then a few few away is my rig surrounded by the only 6 inches of visible floor in the room. Don't forget the redundant puke buckets.

>>12478092Looks really comfy to chill and play some 90's nostalgia stuff on those screens>>12478195>>12478212Jesus christ that's more alcohol and soda i've drank in my entire lifeThe rattling of bottles would drive me crazyWhat the hell man...
>>12478223>What the hell man...One day you're a well adjusted nerd graduating with your 2nd engineering degree. Next thing you know you're in the sea of cans puking at 8am begging for the sweet escape of death. So it goes.
>>12478234>So it goesKurt Vonnegut...One of my school mates graduated in mechanical engineering. He owns a bakery nowHe told me the field's really tough and all his mates bounced to programmingBest of luck anon
>>12478223Sipping beer while watching movies on Mubi and taking shots of whisky while playing Silpheed or Fairland Story feels cozy.
>>12478092This is the type of anon who seethes and froths from the mouth when you simply say you load the game on your emulator and play it on your current modern screen, yet he needs three screens displaying the same thing for some reason
>>12478319Not him but I have two CRTs in my game room. On is a 32" consumer set and the other is a 20" PVMeme. I like having both because one is larger while the other has a sharper image, so I get to pick which one I'd prefer. And it's also handy when I have people over and we're playing multiplayer so everyone isn't crowded around one particular screen.

The PVM was free, but the cat cost me like 3k. Jelly?
>>12478530I really want that TV, but I'd snap every CRT out of existence to get my cat back...
>>12478530Cute gato
>>12478530Your cat is a mutt. Siamese mixed with American Shorthair. It's a Snowshoe. Fact. This is Timoteo, my palico. He’s a monster hunter enjoying a meal of fresh iguana.
>>12478616>Your cat is a muttlol, no. A mutt is a dog, silly. This is a cat. SILLY.
Are PVMemes worth it?
>>12478673Not for what people charge for them these days, no. I got mine a long time ago, for free, and it's really goddamn nice, but these days you'd be better off getting something decent with s-video or component and calling it a day. If you aboslutely insist on RGB, your time would be better spent getting an s-video Trinitron, learning how to solder, and modding it. Although learning how to solder would be a good idea, regardless.
>>12478673I own 3, and the answer is no. Hasn't been worthwhile in over a decade now. Ironically they used to be the cheaper alternative to spending 400 dollars for a framememester. My recommendation for a decade now has been to just find yourself a good consumer set with component inputs like a wega from the early 2000s. Or RGB mod the TV, which is a simple thing to do assuming a compatible chassis. Hell, even just s-video is honestly fine (I didn't go this route because my favorite childhood console is genesis and so RGB was the only option beyond its dogshit composite) Or if you really really want something razor sharp, just pick up a VGA monitor. If using a PC you can use software to fake a 240p look, and if you want to use your original consoles you can get a linedoubler with scanline generator to achieve a look that's pretty much identical to a BVM.
>>12478530your cat will die before the last CRT burns out. so no.get goldfish and breed them, then you will have infinite goldfish. >>>/an/

>>12478319I know this is a stealthy pro-CRT thread, but it's kinda nice to have some room deco and it kinda looks neat to chill in.Not everything has to be purely utilitarian, y'know?>>12478274I can't drink alcohol due to medical reasons, but i get what you mean.Sometimes when i'm tired from a long shift i just slap in RnR and enjoy the vibes
>>12478248Yep, mechanical engineering, that's the one, that's my passion.'08 market crash right as I graduate uni. Move across the country for a job. Entire facility gets shut down '09. Go back to school for programming / cybersec. "Too bad, the field is oversaturated and AI is coming, oh yeah and you have to have a federal security clearance to work half the jobs in the field," which I wouldn't be able to get or hold. There's always alcohol, free retro games, and hikkikomori life. What a waste of talent, oh well, "so it goes."
