Well that's different.
The new jump does make movement interesting but the redesigned levels feel like they're over-compensating for it. I don't think it's a winner across the board. Much of the expanded area between stops, especially new locations feels incredibly under-developed and barren. The backs of many buildings that were obviously walling in the player in the original maps feel like those empty areas of vice city or something, there's really not much reason to be there and if you get lost finding the way out can be really annoying and unrewarding as the landmarks are not appealing and you can't escape that feeling you're just meandering like an idiot. I appreciate the expanded soundtrack. You can still have lots of fun here, it is Crazy Taxi after all, but it's also not Crazy Taxi. Should have had a classic mode.

It has no RetroAchievements, heck it's not even part of the Xbox Backward Compatibility Program.

The first one is the best because it was well-balanced and simple. They didn't really understand what made the game so much fun and the sequels were cash-ins. more than anything that added to the formula.

Honestly I really liked Crazy Taxi 3, the way the maps took advantage of the jump mechanic made it really fun. Yea it makes it play differently but it's super satisfying to jump over entire hills, canyons, and cars. I do prefer Crazy Taxi 1 though because I really liked the original map and they didn't bring it to 3.

I think I saw the cab once at a Wal-Mart but that's my entire experience with Crazy Taxi.

The idea behind 3 Xbox is it contains the maps for 1 and 2 on it, but expanded. It also has all their music which is nice.

after Sega stopped making hardware they had some kind of deal to release on Xbox exclusively

It seems they were selling IPs or franchises to different platform holders, or alternatively focusing on the ones they thought would do best.
I was always disappointed that Xbox never got Virtua Fighter for example.

Sega post dreamcast just released their games on whatever. Seems like they just at random decided what went on what platform

It does seem that way, I wish they did more multiplatform stuff. We could have gotten arcade perfect VF4 Evo on Xbox maybe for example.
