why did they thought a forklift simulator would save the dreamcast?
The world wasn't ready yet.
>>12482724I know it may not seem so to a normie like you, but there is nothing more addicting in this world than operating a forklift
>>12482724Retards didn't market it as forklift simulator in Germany, they could have sold several millions more if they did.
>>12482724It was a daily life simulator and they were basically a decade ahead of time at least. People nowadays love comfy walking around exploring places like in games like INFRA or Yakuza or Red Dead.
Aw shit, here we go again.
>>12482746Yeah but the moment forklift simulator arc begins all that fun is gone
>>12482746if it was only for one time ot two i wouldn't mind but that forklist operating wagecuck shit dragged on for what felt like an eternitynot even the infamous hunting arc in Yakuza 5 was this bad
>>12482724Shenmue was really fun. It wasn't planned to "save" anything the game was started in development before DC even launched
>>12482730nah
>>12482973It was originally supposed to save the saturn, then it was supposed to save the dreamcast. Now its supposed to save yu suzuki's relevance.
>>12482724Do we get to kill people with one? (Ole!)
>>12482980Forklift is love, forklift is life.I come home after a day forklifting in the car factory and come home to playing hours of Shenmue and GTA (forklift only). Then I have dinner and research forklift specifications and techniques until I slep.
>>12482724>grammatically incorrect jeet zoomer past-tense WHY bait thread #24987319786bloodlet all genz garbage
>>12482738^This.
>>12482724That was the best part of the game. Honestly the fact it wasn't 60 hours of working as a forklift operator is probably why it didn't save the Dreamcast.
The magazines all gushing over this shitty game was one of my first hints as a kid that they might not be completely honest.
>>12482730This poster is German.
>>12482724Is Ryo forklift certified???
>>12482774TOO MANY DAMN WEEKEND SOLDIERS
is it true being forklift certified makes women cream themselves?
>>12482774>crappy remakeKys
>>12482746>they were basically a decade ahead of time at leastThat's the entire story of Sega
Oh shit are we having a vidya forklift thread on /vr/?
>>12483008I used to have a cushy forklift job that involved making picks outside and it had a cab with a heater and everything. Just rolled around drinking coffee and playing something off YouTube all day shit was great.
>>12484761I was actually surprised that Dreamcast Magazine only gave it 86% when I was expecting it to be like 98% or something absurd. The forklift section can run a bit long, but I actually liked it. It mirrors Ryo's adventure, having to start work and balancing his time between working and trying to progress his investigation. Making work-friends and slowly unravelling more of the plot. Shenmue is a game that you have to be in a certain mindset to play. Once you sort of 'let go' of the rush, you can enjoy a lot of the mundane stuff.I actually loved and still love the game as one of my favourites. It still does a lot of things so much better than any modern 'story based' game, and it just feels like it was made with a lot more care overall. The details, music, graphics are all so memorable for me.Shenmue III was bad because it took too much from modern games and not enough from Shenmue I and II in my opinion.
