It's very slow and padded. There is SO much hidden shit in this game if you take the time to walk off the beaten path, almost half the game is stuff you do outside the main plot but you have to seek it out. If you don't like it by the end of disc 1, you won't like it.Yeah, I get we're talking about original games here, but... Many, if not most play modded now. You can cut out the time before each battle, you can have a main speed boost and a battle speed boost on top of that, you can skip FMVs and blast through dialog sections. It's a much better game this way.

OP here. Just beat the game. I stopped caring about the story by disc 3 because it just kept going. I like the art style and characters but there is just way too much story for me to the point I just wanted to fucking play the game. Not sure FF is for me, the only one I like is FF12
jrpgs dont need any more power then 16 bit cpus. PS1 jrpgs were a mistake.
