The original Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 are now available on Steam. Discuss these awesome classic games.
I'd rather get them on GOG, personally.
>>12483234Any re3 tips for a first timer? I beat re2 with both Claire and Leon and had a pretty easy time. I played re1 classic with Jill, then tried to play normal mode REmake with Chris but got filtered hard. I hear re3 is difficult. How does it compare to normal mode Chris in REmake? Because if it's as hard or harder I might just skip.
>>12483234>no achievements...and dropped, retroachievement chads win again
>>12483234
>>12483250
>>12483245Yeah they just brought their GOG exclusive titles to Steam.I'm tempted to buy Chronicles of Mystara and Beat'Em Up Bundle every time there's a sale, but you know what, no.
>>12483250>>12483245This leads me to believe this is the GOG reported onto Steam, which means it is the first release again and none of the additional features that other versions of the game had. Again. So once again, waste of money, /v/ermin thread.
>>12483259My puter is so slow right now I didn't see this
>>12483262it's exactly what it is, they even have gog.com as a developer on those. Capcom doesn't really care about these titles and had to be persuaded by gog to rerelease them.>>12483245Definitely, they cucked the Steam versions with that stupid DRM they've been retroactively adding to all their old games.
it's unbelievable all the basedgaping people are doing to buy half assed ports on Steam as if there was no possible way to play these any other way
>>12483234>giving the option between the originals and remakesWhat's this? Capcom being consumer friendly?
>>12483318see where it says developer in the screenshot? GOG.com is to thank for it. Capcom are the ones who added the shitty DRM to the Steam release.
>>12483234Anyone know if it gives you the option to download the Japanese versions like you can on GOG so you can use the Classic REbirth patch?
Ah, so that's what all the spam was about.
>>12483234>DRMAAHAHAHAHA! Imagine buying a digital version of 30 year old game that has a fucking DRM. Thanks, I'll play my old ISOs I downloaded back in 2009.
>>12483402>I'll play my old ISOs I downloaded back in 2009Do they work fine on modern systems? Or do you mean console ones?
>>12483427>Do they work fine on modern systems? They do with the Classic REbirth patch.
Don't waste money on this crap unless it's like 2 dollars. You can download the retail version for free.
>>12483262>This re-released version of the game was co-developed by GOG.
>>12483234I'd only buy the GOG version, if anything. However I already downloaded these games for free, with HD textures.
>resident evil 3 (1999)No Capcom that's not how it workIt's resident evil 3 for this game and resident evil 3 (2020) for the remake
>shilling>Being a steambaby
>>12483564Is Capcom in the room with us right now?
>>12483427Are you retarded?
>>12483234>Enigma DRM for a 1996 game
>>12483623Yes, I'm Capcom.
>>12483234Breath of Fire 4 is up too, CENSORED.
>>12484091What is censored in Breath of Fire 4, the game for children?
>>12483234>DRM on a 30 year old game >Doesn't even work properly they just locked it at 24 fps, and said screw it That'll be 9.99 + Tax + Tip
this is a godsend for people who don't know how to operate an emulator
>>12484129So... zoomers? They can't figure out tank controls though.
>>12484138zoomers grew up on emulators though
>>12484147zoomshits trying to larp as the le retro generashun is really strange.
>>12484138Lazy people. I have a friend who I think doesn't know how or simply don't want to set up an emulator or just take few minutes to google anything, so these releases are perfectly suited for him. He's a fan of immersive sims and bought the Thief bundle some time ago after hearing many positive things about the series and started playing Thi4f. Told him that he should play the original trilogy instead because that game is bad. It's true that the Steam version of the first three games need some tinkering for them to work properly, but he replied that he wants everything to work right out of the gate because he's too old to sit around and tinker with this stuff. So he'll end up with a bad impression of the entire series because of pure laziness.
>>12483432I thought REbirth only works with some specific versions?>>12483624Maybe, but that doesn't answer my question. PC games from the 1990s don't usually work well on modern systems, that's why GOG sells versions with fixes.
>>12483234>no steam deck>no cloud saves>no steam input>no cheevos>drm, bizarrelylazy as fuck
What the fuck? The clock kept ticking while I had the pause menu up? Not the item menu mind you but the pause button menu. Why would they add time spent on the system menu to game time? I'm pretty sure other games did not do this.I'm pissed.
>>12483234The version of 3 is STILL BROKEN! They have ported 3 to PC I believe 5 times now and yet you still can not make a system save after beating the game locking out multiple things.2 is mostly fine, it seems to just be the same as it's original pc port.I haven't played 1 yet and I am curious how this one is the most. The first game has a few different ports and they are all kinda weird in their own way.Oh also just get the GOG versions lmfao.
>>12484101Scias is a drunk. A decapitation was cut out. A whole scene with the girls in a hot spring got deleted... among others.
I got them on gog already. Some improvement mods are necessary, but they run great. I've never played a RE game before and it was a nice experience. Way better than emulating the PS1 games.
>>12483249Just don't try to fight Nemesis before you get better weapons and you'll be fine
>>12483234HOLY SHOT!!!!Thanks, bro!
>>12483234>digital>DRMNo thanks
