>ask my parents if anyone would want it while I look for a plasma TV
>"oh you can swap for the one in our room"
>50 inch plasma TV with HDMI inputs
I've saved in the ballpark of $500 vs buying off people that know what they have through the "ask old people for their outdated displays" meta
Ignore the non-vr stuff, which consoles should I keep hooked up to the CRT for lazing in bed and which go in the dedicated game room with the plasma TV? I have a Sega Genesis and SNES in that room which I could move in here if I swapped two consoles. I'm leaning towards the NES and two Gamecubes taped together for light gun games. I'd love to see how the PS2 and N64 look on the big TV but those are prime lazing consoles that I can't imagine playing outside of bed

why did you post about this on /vr/?

Retro consoles on retro displays
Also scratch the NES light guns don't like plasma displays
>>
everything retro should be hooked up to the crt.

My dad used to have a huge ass plasma tv that came with 3d headset and shit.

Prepare to pay a little more for electricity.

Are plasma's seriously getting scalped now that I could theoretically use one
I've had multiple chances to get one for a decent price in the last few years but didn't have the room

They're about to be. Someone made a youtube video about them that keeps getting pushed

Please spoonfeed me, what is the appeal of plasma TVs for retro or Y2K gaming over a modern HDTV? With CRTs I get it, the image was made for CRTs and scanlines and yadda yadda, but plasma? You will still probably need to buy scalers and adapters anyways, so why not just get a new 4K TV?

You're one of the biggest retards I've seen in quite a while.
Congrats

they're basically proto-OLEDS i.e. they have really deep blacks and don't have the backlight issue LCDs have. but they also have horrible screen burn-in and are really power hungry.

didn't read anything you posted what's up with that usb port on your crt?
>>
>>12488445
No but I knew a guy with one and his was 10 inches thick and max resolution was 720P but that won’t really matter for retro games. I also remember it generated a lot of heat from the front, back, and all sides. Hot enough to make the plastic soft in places. It did look good though laying Wii with progressive cables.

Cheap plasmas are readily available and offer motion clarity on par with a CRT. I see them as the cheaper alternative to OLED, especially since 4K is mostly a meme when it comes to viewing stuff from couch distance.

That said for retro 240p/480i content? Yeah no real reason to use a plasma. But I use a plasma as my primary living room setup, where my PS3 is hooked up. I think plasma is the best display for 7th gen
