I use mister on my tv, and a chinkheld everywhere else.yeah, I can get RA to behave exactly like mister/og hardware using run-ahead/preemptive frames. but I have to to tune it. FOR. EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. GAMEevery fucking game you got to do the pause, frame advanced, check the lag, look up the lag on the OG hardware, and match it.and that's after the colossal bullshit of setting up RA in the first place, finding out which core is best, then going through each fucking setting for each core. it takes WAY fucking more effort than the mister does.

For me the only reason i bought a mister was to have a clutter free multiconsole emulator around PVMs and old tvs. One device with easier analog output is all I wanted it for.I have CRTEmudrive PC emulation in my main arcade cabinet (using an old ATI video card and the whole mess of wires turning joysticks into lag free keyboard inputs with the IPAC), and a cocktail of optimized emulators and which obviously has the best emulation. The mister will never be as good as this. Another arcade cabinet even has an old pi2jamma basic setup using an old pi3b I was trying out years back. Good enough for most 80s games and lagfree input from jamma. Ikari warriors and dig dug dont anything fancy.But for a single small desktop device with minimal cables, that can use original controllers and effortlessly connect to a sony CRT, an old VGA monitor, RGB to a PVM, and also HDMI to an LG OLED with nice scsnlines and able to use HDR with crisp black borders for 4:3 as needed and run multiple consoles on a whim? That is what the mister is for. Nothing else gives you that much analog flexibility in such a small footprint.Since I got my mister i have put my genesis/segacd and snes in storage, and I dont miss their cable mess and power bricks. The only console I still leave out is my old modded PS2 which lives permanently attached to one of the trinitrons with component cables.
