Man, i feel bad for Tom Kalinske, he did everything he could to save the sinking ship that was the Saturn.
>>
how was sending unwanted packages in the mail supposed to help save the saturn
>>
>he did everything he could to save the sinking ship that was the Saturn.
That FY1997 document proves precisely the opposite.
>>
Threadly reminder that SoA killed Sega.
>>
Then why did the Saturn do perfectly fine in Japan but flop in the US
>>
>>12489343
>perfectly fine
doing barely better than the N64 in it's home turf isn't perfectly fine
>>
>>12489357
>barely better
It had over 1,000 games released for it lmao
>>
>>12489268
Sega of America fanboys are insufferable.
>>
>>12489293
This. Tom literally sank the ship. He's also the retard who begged for the 32X because he didn't think they should introduce a new hardware generation.
>>
the saturn died because of the playstation. yes it lost a lot of games in the US that couldve helped it but most of those games wouldnt have appealed to the general american consumer anyway. the saturn simply didnt have final fantasy or gran turismo

So we're just lying now?

>the sinking ship that was the Saturn

Wasn't he the dumbass who thought they could drag out the Mega Drive into 1998?
>>
Yet another Saturn thread
>>
>>12492879
If Sega of America had it their way, we'd still be getting brand new Genesis releases and add-ons today.
>>
>>12492915
>sega would still be in the hardware business if it wasn't for SoJ fucking shits
huh, well when you put it like that...
>>
>>12489268
Neither SoJ or SoA wants to claim the 32X, they both act like the other branch came up with that.
>>
>>12489293
WTF?!
>>
>>12489343
LOL, no, the PlayStation tramped the Saturn in Japan.
>>
>>12489375
Fuck off, you fag!
>>
>>12489383
>the saturn simply didnt have final fantasy or gran turismo

The Nintendo 64 didn't have those either.
>>
>>12489391
Why was Sega so threatened by the Jaguar? No one else gave a shit about it.
>>
>>12493240
It's easy to think so with hindisght, but things were still pretty chaotic back then and a lot could happen. Hell, Sony launched it's first console and mogged everyone
>>
>>12493213
Yeah, and newsflash, the N64 didn’t do too hot either, but Nintendo at least stood by their most popular first-party franchises (and had Rare) to prevent it from being a total failure. Sega couldn’t even be arsed to make a genuine Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, or Phantasy Star title for the Saturn, let alone Sonic.
>>
>>12493296
>Golden Axe
Worst part is they could have just ported Revenge of Death Adder
>>

The fuck?
