I plan to make a retro lan party next month, Is there any game packs to speed up the process of deploying games? Already spent too much time fiddling with aoe2 and halo ce. Like a pack of portable lan party ready games to just unzip and play
Id like to unzip her and make her enjoy her time better than any vidya could ever. That sweet virgin illegal that won't ever tell or risk deportationOkay with that out of the way. I have not seen one of them packs in 15 years. Even now I just looked on torrents and nothing comes up. Going to have to find the games one by one with titles like "ready to lan" if you can.Though really if you have the network set up correctly already, and the pcs drivers all set. Many cracked games are just install (patches usually to) and they work.
Back in the day, in the late 90s and early 00s, admins at the LAN clubs I frequently visited would just update and clone their master HDD with all the stuff pre-installed.
>>12489485the vast majority of gog installers work on xp, sure it still needs installed, but they're easy to pirate and just werk.
>>12489485>just unzipMost cracked games you can just copy and it will work.
>>12489485Try GTA its super fun. AOE had some issue where it crashed on win xp so test before the event. For DOS I remember you have to type net to launch the batch file to load the network driver. I think you would just have a network share and have everyone access it in windows using tcp/ip.
>>12489485anon youre not deploying custom tailored kernels and operating systems>install winblows>install games>clone HDD>copy cloned HDD to other storage medium>boot windows and manually add the drivers and shit youre missing if anyIf youre not a total goober you can just sftp the files to the drives from your own LANDo this if you want to see just how fast data transfers can be. You will never stop hating your ISP once you experience this.
>>12489485Have one machine serve as a file server with all the games. Mount it as a network share on each PC, and then have the players copy whatever games they need. Don't run around with USB sticks and DVDs.

>>12489485I go to a lan party every couple months and we have one main game, Halo master chief collection. Very simple and allows for a mix of XB console+PC users. For any other games we go with the flow depending on what people are in the mood for. No need to overcomplicate it. It's also nice to have a CRT TV for console gaming.
One network drive with all your roms + frontend installed on each machine in which you make playlists by genre
>speed up the process of deploying games?fuckin docker that shit plebdo you even kubernetes

>>12489485There are some like PortaDOOM in the Doom general OP: >>12484139. Also see >>12489939You can speed up the process by using and telling your friends to use Filezilla to connect to the server and transfer the files to their computers with relative ease. Also, make sure the executables are of the portable variety just to make things simpler and quicker with setup
