No, they should all produce equivalently colored Yoshi eggs. It would tie into Bowser capturing all the Yoshis; he stuffed them into the exclamation blocks and then locked them all away in each switch house.

There should have been shops to spend your Dragon Coins.
There should have been a SMB3 style item bar on the overworld.
There should have been upgrades to Mario, new overalls to let you revert to Super Mario from Fire or Cape, otherwise you'd revert to small Mario. New hat to let you break certain blocks to open different paths. New boots to let you run faster, jump higher, and stomp spiked enemies.
A built-in level editor with an online component to share via Satellaview.

Really, the game needed both a more focused development and a more relaxed development timeframe. It's a very rushed and cobbled-together game because it was made on too short a schedule and their ideas were all the fuck over the place.

It's genuinely very fucking concerning how most people don't realize that Super Mario World constantly uses green/red/yellow/blue throughout the game, because it's intentionally supposed to play on the Super Famicom logo. And Americans especially don't notice this because they removed the fucking colors from the controller.

I knew about the logo.
It appeared in some games, sometimes slipped into magazines, some third-party turbo controllers had that pattern.
It wasn't hard to put two and two together.

It definitely seems like magenta should've been the fire flower, and maybe blue as starmen. If they were wanting ones which simply served as platform assists like said magenta and blue wound up being, they should have added some extra colors, like black and white.
That said, the fire flower definitely feels like the lesser powerup compared to the feather, so they probably thought it wasn't worth it.
