This scared the shit out of me as a kid I would cover my eyes and cringe in fear seeing Scorpion's skull

>>12490673Bowser's evil laugh when you first enter the castle in Mario 64, or when you try to enter a locked door.It utterly petrified me and for YEARS I would have nightmares where I heard that laugh and scary jingle repeating.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txUqdUWt1l4Any time I started a new save file and/or accidentally bumped into a locked door, I'd cover my eyes and ears to avoid hearing it.
>>12490701got me
When this piece of fuck stalked me from behind right after a scan I screamed my lights out. Fucking HATE this bastard.
I guarantee you were all terrified when you first played this. You're just lying if you deny it.
>>12490970The only game that ever scared me was Splatterhouse 3. Not being able to save someone from having their fucking brain eaten by a worm was not the kind of body horror a six-year-old should probably be exposed to, lol.Besides that, I've never really found anything else scary. Anything where you're being hunted down or with monsters in the shadows just makes me more alert. I don't really feel anything at all.
castlevania level 3 creeped me out for some reason
Fuck, just this whole game in fact
>>12491729That whole game was a bright colored horror exploration.
>>12490685>Again?
on 3DO we had a game where we found out if you hit somebody into the lava to win the match they'd become skeleton and jump at the screenscared me a few times but we kept doing it
>>12490761It's a pretty great scene.
>>12490685>friendzoned
>>12490673Styrofoam head. Made me sleep with the back to the wall for years.

>>12490673The moaning trees scared me as a kid in MK2. It was funny playing it when I got older and just noticing how the moving face has sharp lines where it separates from the rest of the tree. The mirror room in SH3 was pretty creepy.
I rented this once as a teenager and it scared the shit out of me

>>12490761This made me go holy shit as a kid too
After I saw my brother play this part, I looked away when I next saw it on my own playthrough. It's a trivially easy boss fight anyway.
Something about the ghost lady in Uninvited spooked me pretty well when I was young. I think it's that she starts off looking fairly harmless, unlike other threats in the game, so interacting with her and getting a description of the protagonist being ripped into bloody chunks is more startling than the other potential deaths.

>>12494238yeah i found this and shadowgate quite creepy as a kid. didnt help that i never really got anywhere in the games because i was too young. deja vu was also a vibe
I hated being chased by sharks indoors in waist-deep clear water. Out of all the shit in RE, this is the only thing that bothered me.Although looking back, how the hell would you open a door in a flooded room?
>>12490673I was only 4 when I watched that intro of Dark Seed where a guy has his forehead ripped open and a seed is implanted in his brain. Fucked me up for a long time
>>12490673Make fun of me all you want. I was scared shitless of specifically the Mario 3 castle theme
>>12493824That room was creepy. Pretty sure you die if you stand there too long, which is what I did because I wanted to see what would happen
For me it is the psx demo of nightmare creatures. Took me quite a while to fortify myself to actually play it through as the spooks were a bit much for young me. The other (and older) memory though not as scary is renting destruction derby 2. Love the game but the main menu terrified 8 year old me with its music.>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC1YajJO7QQI've come to appreciate it more as i've gotten older and I would describe it as "industrial desolation" but yeah, scared the fuck out of me back in the day.
>>12490761Lol
>>12491729Why? That's just a cute gecko.
>>12494224just use a phoenix down lmao
>>12494394Fuuuuck this got me good as a kid. Right around halloween the first time I stumbled upon this one.
>>12494962kek that music definitely feels way too foreboding for that type of game
>gets to E1M8 for the first time>"what's that column down there?">*shoots into the air*>iron lich with evil grin turns around and starts shooting tornadoes>"oh sh..."
the opening cutscene of the ooze and some jurassic park game on the mega drive with dinosaurs looming over you in the dark, both scared me
Interacting with the brothers in Myst scared me, especially after finding the one hidden torture room. The electric chair in that room also scared me a lot.
