>>12491615did this artist do the art for the original suikoden?
>>12491615Idk about this game specifically but Lodoss War was fucking HUGE in Japan and it's insane that like nobody in the West even knows what it is. It's also insane that the series is dead.
>>12493472I've seen the anime, it had good art but the story was painfully generic, like it was ripped from a game...which is fitting I guess
>>12493659That's because it was originally a D&D campaign. Transcripts of the game were serialized in magazines, which were then adapted into novels. Later it got an OVA and then a TV series. There were also of course radio dramas, video games, and manga in there somewhere as well.At some point it was adapted into Sword World and got its own official ruleset.

YOU'RE THE STRONGEST IN THE WORLD
>>12493731I find it funny how many IP's have spawned just from the idea of capitalizing on a particular D&D session the devs/authors once had at a one fated random meeting among nerds - i.e. the first 3 Final Fantasy games and both Quake & Daikatatana just to name a few most widely known examples.
>>12493804>Deedlit was played by a guyDamn...
Seems I rescued this thread from falling off page 10 with no replies and it became a decent discussion.
>>12493472>nd it's insane that like nobody in the West even knows what it isWhat the new fag fuck are you on about. This was like STARTER KIT anime back in the day. >>12493659>WHY WAS IT NOT SUBVERSIVE AND IRONIC! You cunts don't even know what generic means or what sincerity would look like if it slapped you.
