What is the most premium bespoke gameboy advance I can get on the market? I have an analog pocket and it's cool I like the FPGA cores more than than the GBA playing of it and the form factor isn't working for my use case. I got a modretro chromatic and it's my daily driver the shit has paint peeling off it already. On the horizon it looks like they may make a GBA model but who knows when the fuck that might happen. In the meantime I bought an everdrive GBA pro because fuck me the everdrive GB X7 has basically changed my workday 100%. I get overpaid to play games I always wanted to and romhacks that genuinely breath new life into the fucking shit I love about video games. PokemonpureRGB has been such a breath of fresh air and I'm getting some more pokemon romhacks lined up once I've completely exhausted this title and clear my pokemon Cram save, taking my time relishing this shit for real.Does anyone here have experience with these "refurb" or "OEM motherboard" transplants with IPS screens and other bells and whistles? I do not want chink shit. I'm open to a form factor match FPGA. I do not have the time to fuck up my GBAs with DIY projects. There are cheaper alternatives blah blah blah, that's not what I'm asking. Call me a shill whatever, but if someone has put some mileage on something like this or bought them previously I want your review and thoughts. I'm on the fence of what I'm going to get after I curate my list of games I want on the everdrive and need the form factor to play the shit out of it.As an aside I wouldn't mind any curated title input. So far I'm thinking:Boktai 1-3Warioware/twistedYoshi topsy turvyMother 3Sheep Summon Knight story 1/2one piece/dragonball gbamegaman zero series a lot of first party and "classic" titles I have physically and probably want to avoid. that said feel free to pitch them since I'm probably going do an all 300 missions in FFTA save again.tl:dr what's the cadillac of GBA in modern era
>>12491714On the subject of the curated list I got some really good advice about everdrives and romlists. Basically curating anything from 5-20 games of games you know you want to play because too many times I hear about>yeah I just put the entire list of no intro roms on my everdriveok how much do you play it>oh man just decision paralysis too many choices I'm exhausted before I even pick somethingand the curated list thing genuinely has me playing shit I never would have touched otherwise and really enjoying from kusoge to kamige I just never emulated or made time for. It helps especially with GB/GBC library due to the extremely pick up and play design they had and may not lend itself as well to the GBA library but I do want to try it out. I don't want to pack a bunch of JRPGs on there that I know I just wont make time to finish. I think I literally have a world of ruin save on FF6 gba that I just I'm stuck in the lava cave and I refuse to use a guide and haven't been able to pick it back up since. /vr/ actually plays games and for me the GBA library had some absolute fucking bangers. I'm hoping in a few years or so I finally mod my 3DS and try some of that library but fuck man I love me gameboy and GBA library so much. I don't want to play FFTA but man the customization through level up jobs and job skills were so fun and simple compared to doing discrete mathematics in say fire emblem heroes. I wont even post the paragraphs of shit I have to try and calculate while trying to have fun just to figure out of a unit will explode on impact or blow up the opponent. Simple and clean.
Why no a regular GBA or a SP? If you will spend money on a fancy one and fancy flashcard might instead buy the games you really want
>>12491757I have the games I want. I want a screen better than the SP and a battery with a USB C charger so I can play more often without making me blinder than I already am>lol ok just emulate 4kmy use case is I'm data centers for hours the steam deck was ok for a while but even the switch lite is sort of too big to be packing with all the tools, equipment, work laptop. I love the steamdeck but that thing makes the gameboy color and gba truly pocket sized gaming.
>>12491714the naruto games on it are quite funbreath of fire ports are goodi would test out and see how the mario ports look on it because they were known for being oversaturatedff 3, 4, and 6 are great (there are romhacks that fix the color to not be eyeball searing)golden sun & the lost age are spectacularpokemon mystery dungeonsuper mario superstar sagadankey kang country (there are romhacks that fix the color)the spongebob movie game was funmario pinball
buy a regular shell gameboy that is already moddedwill save you so much time and energy
>>12491714>I do not want chink shit.your loss. you wouldn't notice a difference playing games on real GBA, FPGA GBA, or this.
>>12493043That ugly button row placement, they should just do the SNES ones like the DS's
>>12491714Fuck off, you fucking faggot!
Shut the fuck up with your ESL ass and put the work in.
>>12492842that's precisely what I plan on doing.>>12493043I already said I have no problem with an FPGA but I want one that wont feel like shit and have a matching form factor. The extra buttons aren't a turn off but if you have experience with this model I would like to know more. When I say chinkshit I mean quite specifically aliexpress tier FPGAs that feel like shit and have poor build quality. The only issue with this abernic is specifically that it has no dedicated slot for a cart and I bought an everdrive gba pro for things like the light sensor and accelerometer.>>12493184hey man that's just like kind of rude. I'm gonna have to ask for an apology or a game recommendation for GBA at the very least.
