Why didn't Looking Glass make the first game more like a game they hadn't even begun thinking about? Really shortsighted of them.

Build variety, replay value, enhanced exploration

I am numb to making numbers go up. There's no context to levelling mechanics that would feel like a meaningful gameplay interaction to me. I already prefer SS1 without it to SS2 with it. iirc Ken Levine said on a LGS fan podcast that SS2 was an RPG because the dark engine wasn't designed to support the kind of shooting mechanics like in Quake or Half-Life. That's all the stats in RPGs are in my opinion, just a substitute for robust gameplay.

What is it about this game that attracts faggots who can't speak english?
