This gave boomers a heart attack.
>>
You had to be there.

it's just as scary as anything in a horror videogame.

that is, not at all because fiction isn't scary, you pussy
>>
It wasn't so much scary as just unexpected. It's like Nintendscary. Skeletons and ghosts are pretty standard fare, but tentacles and fleshbeasts weren't, at least not for Zelda.
>>

Get a load of this guy.
Bet you watch horror movies on your little phone with all the lights on in your room.

>oomers
my dad don't play games
>>
>>12493758
And now it does the same to current players
>>
>>12493758
Having to button mash is annoying
>>
>>12493758
For me, it was the wallmasters. As a kid I hated going in rooms with them.
>>
The well and shadow temple were both legit spooky when I was 8
>>
>>12493758
Yeah. Hell, my mom was even scared of Gohma. When it dropped down and the controller vibrated, she literally threw the controller across the floor. Boomers didn't really have the faculties to handle a game like this the way us millennials did.
>>
>>12493758
Is that why they had to censor it in the remake?
>>

>fiction isn't scary
If you're not lying then you're a sad excuse of a person.

Being this desensitized is something to be ashamed of, not to pride yourself on.

No, 8 yo kids aren't nor weren't boomers. Boomers were playing the system for adults.
>>
>>12494424
Boomers weren't playing video games at all, the youngest boomers were in their mid 30s at the time. Most of them missed the boat on video games and the ones who played Atari or whatever as kids had long since moved on because video games were seen as children's toys back then.

>the youngest boomers were in their mid 30s at the time
PS1 succeeded in part because it marketed towards that audience. A big part of the PS1 userbase were 30 yos.
>>
>>12494457
It was marketed toward and bought by Gen Xers, who were 17 to 30 in 1997.
>>
>Boomers
What would a 30 to 50 something be doing playing this game? You mean early millennials and late gen x.
>>12494457
No, it was 20 somethings.
>>
>>12494457
Boomers played point and clicks, flight sims and the odd strategy game on PC
>>
>>12493826
Found someone with a sub 90 IQ.
>>
>>12494437
Wow you're stupid. Boomers were playing computer games. My dad's a boomer and he was playing Age of Empires and Red Baron 3D.
>>
>>12494589
Euroboomers are a different breed entirely, I can only speak to what I know of American boomers.
>>
>>12494696
My boomer mother played point and clicks, my boomer father played flight sims, and I'm american
>>
>>12494437
Boomers played Myst and Riven.
They also played arcade games when they were in their teens and 20s. Bars would often have a couple of cabinets. (These days its almost always Big Buck Hunter but in the 80s they'd have various games from Pac-Man to Bad Dudes). Boomers would hang out in the bars shooting pool, throwing darts and getting the new high score on centipede.

But it's true they did not play Ocarina of Time. Even most of GenX didn't play OoT, it was overwhelmingly a millenial thing, especially peak millennials born around 1988-1990.

It’s a genuinely unsettling design, and I’d go as far to say scarier than any enemy from the first Resident Evil.

Sneaking past the redeads in castle town was unnerving. Wallmasters also suck. Praise the sun song.

Nothing is scary when you don't care about dying. Fear literally stops working.

Anon... Do you not understand how mentally broken you are? It's not normal.
>>
>>12493758
I can understand if you don't find it particularly scary, but if you want to act smug about it, all I have to do is ask you to provide an example of what scares Zoomers.

This is always the pic people use when they try to claim that Nintendo games are "dark and mature and not at all made for children."
>>
>>12499047
I don't know, MM was pretty depressing for a game rated E for Everyone.
>>
>>12499047
Bruuuuh bruthhhaa there's blood in a HECKIN HECKERINO Nintendo™ game!
>>
I was too scared to go past the Shadow Temple or into the Bottom of the Well and couldn't beat the game. I always just loaded my brother's save file if I wanted to go kill Ganondorf.
