If Nintendo and Sega teamed up in the 90's instead of fighting it out, how drastically would this of changed the gaming landscape and the market as a whole? Would Sega still be in the console business? Would we get character crossovers in the biggest titles?

I was in the thread this meme was made. It was on neogaf probably a couple decades ago. I miss the old internet. To answer your question, Sega games would probably just be tied to Nintendo hardware to this day, so they never would have "left" the hardware business. Sony still would have ended up eating their lunch though by the time the PSX rolled around. Nintendo's relunctance on advancing hardware and Sega's general retardedness wouldn't have stood a chance.

The question makes no sense. How do competitors 'team up'? Every Dreamcast sold would be a Nintendo 64 that wasn't and vice versa.

We really don't need a Japanese stranglehold on gaming. Microsoft saved the very soul of gaming with the Xbox.
