What were the best fighting game console ports from the period when they had to be downgrated because consoles were weaker? Excluding Neo Geo consoles, obviously.

I think the following were great:
>Street Fighter II Turbo SNES
>Street Fighter II Champion Edition PC Engine
>Garou Densetsu Special PC Engine CD
>Mortal Kombat II SNES
>Killer Instinct SNES
>Street Fighter Alpha GBC

SF2CE on PC Engine slaps hard for the hardware it runs on

I liked a lot the SFA3 PS1 port, world tour was fun and the way the compensated for the hit effects by making them "3D" was nice. By the way, I'm not sure is every PS1 Capcom port did it (the VS games at least, but those aren't good), but by doing mirror matches the game loads the missing frames the game omits on average. World Heroes 2 for PC Engine is good too.

What makes FFS better on PCE compared to SNES and Sega CD?
>>

Plays better and has better presentation. SNES made some weird changes with the music and is kind of buggy, the Sega CD port was outsourced to Funcom and it's presentation is not good (bad animation and terrible voices), at least it plays decently.

Wasn't it the SFC original which had some bugs and then was fixed for SNES?
Also I like the music changes, especially Ryo's theme being an AoF medley

Did you not understand OP's post or are you just trolling?

Battle Arena Toshinden played pretty good on the original Gameboy despite not being 3D. The arcade card did allow for some decent NeoGeo conversions to the old PC-Engine.
