First time playing and 100%ing Yoshi’s Island right now. The game is comfy, though some levels feel a bit long, especially when I miss something and I have to replay them. But sadly, and to my surprise, what’s really getting on my nerves is the music... It was awful to start World 5 and hear "Flower Garden" AGAIN... for a fucking snow level! Don’t get me wrong, the music is good… the 3 or 4 tracks that get repeated ad nauseam, but seriously, was there no budget for Koji Kondo to make more tracks? Not even a snow level track, for what was, at least in America, going to be considered the sequel to SMW?
>>12496779I also wanted to mention, I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the GBA port, but I can’t return to the checkpoint ring immediately if a boss hits me. I have to wait for Baby Mario to be taken away. The moment the boss touches me, I can no longer get 100%, so it would have been nice to have an option to restart from the checkpoint immediately.
>>12496779>First time blogging on the 4chinHopefully last
>>12496779The GBA port is impressive but only because it's on a gba. Unless you're stuck in a dungeon with only that 3DS, find a way to play the snes/sf original. Avoid emulation but as a last resort, even that would be a better experience.
>>12496873stfu it's literally the same game you fucking hipster
>>12496779the 3ds natively plays GBA games you could have just injected the rom and played it normally and fullscreen without the nonsensical contraption you have going on.
>>12496779Is picrel running via emulation or natively with 3DS hardware? If the latter, I didn't know you could add borders like that
>>12496779What handheld is that?
>>12497418Game Gear
>>12497490Doesn't look the same.
>>12496779>Tiny screen and Not even full screenJust play it on Switch virtual console, runs great. Or Emulate, gba emus are very decent
>>12497498Nomad
>>12497332>smaller viewport>worse sound quality>countdown timer is slowed down>changes to the level design of several levels, including the addition of entirely new roomsIt's literally not the same game.
>>12496873>find a way to play the snes/sf original. Avoid emulationI've always preferred handheld consoles to home consoles. Never had Nintendo consoles until GameCube, so my SNES was always my GBA. I have a powerful PC that lets me run SNES games very smoothly using bsnes, with run ahead enabled to avoid the lag that I notice quite a bit after playing on actual hardware, but even so, I still prefer to use the real hardware that I have, which in this case for Yoshi's Island is the GBA on my 3DS.>>12497340I know, OP pic is open_agb_firm, no need for injections anymore. I've also modified my 3DS to support Bluetooth controllers, so I can use either my SNES controller or the handheld itself, depending on what I feel like. It feels like a portable Game Boy Player, I think it's awesome, the ultimate way of playing GBA games for me.Also fullscreen non-integer scaling for GBA games is absolutely a no. I won't mutilate the pixels, so 1:1 is the way. Also with an XL it's the same size of a GBA SP, so it's the real experience (pic related).>>12497342It's native, open_agb_firm now support borders! Here is the GameCube purple one: https://github.com/profi200/open_agb_firm/discussions/125>>12497543>Just play it on Switch virtual consoleI have my Switch hacked too so I can use the NSO emulator. If you're going to use an emulator, this is definitely the best one, way better than mGBA. Panasonic did a really good job with the Switch emulator; way better than the one M2 made for the Wii U too. But I still prefer the actual hardware, and the portability of the 3DS.---No discussion on Yoshy's Island?
>>12496779What is going on here? Are you using a BT controller with a 3DS?
>>12498262>No discussion on Yoshy's Island? That's why you never post a picture that's more worth discussing than the text in your post.
