What are the best old timey casual games for retro consoles? Homebrew welcome. I'm talking about shit grandpa might play or dad on his lunch break. Competent versions of (probably card) games for boring grownups that also have comfy aesthetics and music.>Ultimate Card Games for gba and clubhouse games for DS>There's a bunch of sudoku on DS but so far none of them seem like "the one".>Sudoku Fever for gba is good but has distracting crackling sounds in the music. Also has cool customization concepts and UI but the actual options are all very mid, and only like 1 song. So far I like the controls of this one even compared to touchscreen sudokus.>There's a few wordle homebrew roms for old consoles that are kinda neat>a good chess game might exist>/vr/ Mahjong would be cool if it's a real version (not tile matching), but it seems like basically just the gameboy yakuman game and some NES games have english patchWhat /vr/ unc card/newspaper/whatever games are worth emulating?
Spider SolitaireThe DS isn't retro, by the way
>>12497143>NOT RETRO!!!!!!!Boomers gonna boom
>>12497143But which console versions specifically? Speaking of solitaire tho, klondike and freecell also fit the old person game concept of this thread exceptionally well
>>12497143shit he's actually right i just checked the sticky. Sorry disregard any DS mentions then i guess. hopefully thread can stay up. There's just so many games like these for that console lol damn.
for some reason, the only game my dad would ever play was Galagaif we came across a machine, we would play a game together if we weren't in a hurryand he was pretty decent at it, being able to hit 200,000+ consistently even in his 60s
>>12497137jeopardy on nes
>>12497137I remember someone serial posting a Japanese greatgrandma playing famicom bomberman. She said something along the lines she played other games and didn't like them, she only plays this game.
>>12497137sudoku
>>12497162one of the best arcade games ever made, alongside frogger.
>>12497137>old people>old timey>retro>ds
>>12497137I'm married but not a dad yet, the dad's I know play 90s arcade shmups, 90s arcade beat em ups and 90s console platform action games.
>>12497894>>12497162When OP said boring old timey casual grownup games, it was asking for recommendations for video game versions of things like slow paced classic card games or sudoku or crossword puzzles, not "my dad played arcade games" lol but those sound like precious memories anyway. Trying to wade through the piles of shovelware from all the old consoles to find something classic to play on a phone emulator.>>12497797yes but which specific version(s)?
>>12498068my bad, lolnot sure if this fits, but I can rec Kuru Kuru Chamelon/Chameleon if your phone can handle Dreamcast or PSPIt's a tile flipper, in the same vein as Othello or ConQuest (old Mega Touch game)it's turn-based and relatively chilldifferent specials for each characterone is honestly much better for countering the CPU than the others, but I'll let first timers figure who that is
>>12497147And you fags gonna bum
>>12497137
>>12497295What a fucking chad grandma!
>>12498078naw it's my bad I tried to illustrate the idea with too much flowery language and crap now just been nitpicking the replies lmao. Anyway thanks that game def isn't the boring-grownup vibe but it still looks really comfy for the collection.
