What games are the most worthwhile to experience with cheats to shorten the play time, see something cool, or experience the story?
>>

overcoming adversity is part of the process, OP
if you need a crutch, then whatever, but getting better at a game is rewarding in and of itself
you're doing yourself a disservice when you cheat to win
if you just want to see cutscenes and endings, watch an LP
the only kid I knew who owned a Game Genie ending up getting leukemia
coincidence, or divine judgment?
>>

I'm not a kid anymore, so I don't have hours upon hours to get good at games designed for memorization of specific patterns. Games like Phantasy Star 4 were designed to sink your time for a year when your parents would buy you one game, but are fun to play if you can speed it up without grinding. Contra 3 is hard as fuck, but really cool to see the best ending.

I don't want to fucking sit in bed and watch an LP. I at least want to experience part of it and challenge myself a bit, but not in the way where it's the only game I'm going to play for a month or a year.

you sound like an entitled homosexual that doesn't even like games

Just tell your mum you aren't going to do the dishes anymore and that you are going to stay in her basement and become a pro gamer. Then you can git good

The main fun I had with a game genie was jumping over the flag pole in Mario and thinking there was some huge secret behind it.
>>

sounds like you want the glory but not have to work for it
honestly, OP, you just have to accept that you don't have time for certain games anymore, and find ones that fit your lifestyle
I used to play a lot of JRPGs and compete in local fighting tournies, but I had to move on from both because if the time sink involved
I do still play S/TRPGs occasionally, as I can easily pause and resume when stuff comes up
this is also why older, shorter (especially arcade games) become much more attractive later in life

I've never used Game Genie to beat games, just to fuck around with for fun. Same for Game Shark.

Infinite ammo - would improve every FPS. Balance it with reload times or whatever I don't care
>>
>>12498129
It wouldn't, as scarcity promotes caution and tactical thinking, as well as balancing certain weapons
even fucking Splatoon doesn't have infinite ammo, lmao

Tons of PS1 games that don't have any way to re-watch the FMV scenes without playing hours of the game. A gameshark will let you play the video files on the disc at will.

The best ending to Contra 3 is on Youtube, you don't need to waste your time pretending you le beat the game to watch it.

Everyone knows you're supposed to use cheats to make games harder.

I always used the invincibility cheat in Super Empire Strikes back and the code to start at the Darth Vader boss fight in Cloud City. Because the cheat makes bosses invincible too, you get to fight as long as you want. Loved it as a kid.

Earth Defence Force is the only game I can think of where infinite ammo is decent. But that is one of the greatest games ever so whatever
>>
>>12498071
I played through Phantasy Star 4 for the first time a few years ago, it's not a time sink and there's no reason to cheat as it requires no grinding at any point.

Here's my hot take. If you're playing a game and feel like cheating to get through it faster, that's a good sign that the game isn't worth your time either way. If you want to see the level graphics or the story, there are plenty of other ways to experience that. Do whatever you want, but cheating doesn't save you time, it costs you time doing something pointless.

Definitely classic Resident Evil. Much more fun games when you can play it and just focus on the exploration and puzzle solving without worrying about health and ammo conservation.
>>
Pokemon if you want all the mons with just one cart.

>Let's take the survival and horror out of this survival horror game so now it's just Myst with worse graphics.

Not really sure where the appeal is.
