ITT: Games/game series that you'd like to see revived/rebooted.The first one that immediately comes to mind is Eternal Champions. Sega gave us a kick-ass 2D fighter with the first one, then an even better sequel before abandoning the franchise entirely. Can you imagine how awesome a reboot with online play would be?Some others that need to be revived, IMO (to name just a few):>Primal Rage>Ristar>Gunstar Heroes>Wonder Dog>Chrono Trigger>Lunar>Snatcher>Magical Pop'n>Phoenix>Robotron: 2084>Smash TV>Cool Spot>Darkstalkers>Pong>Welltris>Comix Zone>Kid Chameleon>ClayFighter (several planned reboots were cancelled)>Popful MailAll of these games are long past due for a revival (and I don't just mean HD versions of the originals).
spyro
Zork
Kangaroo
Warship Gunner
Ecco the Dolphin
Fuck no, I don't want modern developers anywhere near my favorite dead series.
Gex and Jumping Flash!.
Unfortunately, an Eternal Champions reboot would probably be just like the Killer Instinct reboot was: the embodiment of everything wrong with modern gaming, in which every single facet of the game must be purchased individually for maximum $$$.
>>12499124Sega wouldn't do that to us.
Comix Zone would be badass if they made it look like a real comic book.
Knuckles Chaotix, the most unique and underrated Sonic universe game. There really needs to be a sequel.
We haven't gotten a new Starfy game since 2008.

>>12498069I know there was the remake, but I feel like Alex Kidd could be retooled/rebooted.Have Igle and Stella as optional playable characters, maybe add some beat-em-up elements (alex does know martial arts after all), lean into the "legally distinct OG Dragon Ball" vibes, etc.
>>12498069tenchu, colony wars, wipeout, road rash
>Robotron: 2084This. Just imagine it being rebooted as a multiplayer roguelike with online play, randomly generated rooms, power-ups, boss battles, and updated graphics resembling an '80s dystopian sci-fi movie.
It hasn't actually been all that long since the last entry came out compared to most of the things people have listed, but I hope the Deception series continues at some point. There isn't much else like it, and I've enjoyed every entry.Something new along the lines of Solar Jetman would also be interesting. I'm not aware of anything more modern that's particularly similar to it, and I think the premise has a lot of potential.>>12498089I'd like to see that, too. I'm generally pretty fond of "build your own custom war machine/combat vehicle" games, like Armored Core.
Anteater and Lady Bug are two of my all-time favorites. I would love to see them get the Pac-Man Championship Edition DX treatment.
I want a new Duke Nukem side-scroller, not another cringe FPS like Duke Nukem Forever.
Commander Keen, and the same people who did Rayman Origins should do it.
How has nobody mentioned EarthBound/Mother yet?
>>12499917Earthbound fans aren't worth catering to.
>>12499124Didn't they at the very least release a complete edition later on?
A really specific pick, but Lost Eden. Had a really unique atmosphere and mood to its world that i wouldn't mind seeing expanded from a point n click into something like a full rpg. Also expand on the architect role of the main protagonist building colonies and strongholds.>>12498073Zork is another one i wouldn't mind seeing getting rpg-ified with some Wizardry influence mixed with the adventure game elements. Love the lore of the world that is tongue-in-cheek but takes itself seriously. I was always curious about that one web forum/rpg thing that came out, but never got to try it.>>12499504Chaotix is one the few games i will say deserves a remake or a Directors Cut edition. Would have been neat if the Sonic Mania fags had gotten to do something with it.>>12499917I am fine with it not becoming a forever franchise, but i think there is plot potential for a Mother 4 that takes place after Earthbound in the "good future". I always imagined a plot where the Starmen/aliens are scared shitless at what the evil in humanities minds did to Giygas and now view them as a threat to the galaxy that needs to be wiped out, with the protagonists hopping across space to different weird planets on a trek to the Starmen homeworld to convince the Apple of Enlightenment (which i always assumed was a super computer that governed their race), that humans are not evil destructive creatures that will bring chaos to the universe. I could see it wrapping up a lot of the themes of the series and even provide some level of closure/redemption for Giygas and his actions. Maybe too fan service-y, but the party could be a new girl character as the MC, a middle aged drifter Ninten(going off the theory he was Buzz-Buzz in the bad future), Ness in his 20s and a robot character with amnesia, whom is implied to be Lucas who had his mind/soul sent back in time, while still being ambiguous to the fate of M3s ending. Could also have Porky show up as a recurring asshole, bouncing around timelines.
>>12498952Ecco has remasters and a new game in development. The website still says 291 days until announcements, though.
>>12499958>A really specific pick, but Lost Eden. Most of the atmosphere came from the music, and sadly Stephane Picq passed away recently.

Dactyl Nightmare. Might as well make a new one for the Oculus.
Clock Tower. Can't believe that series died.
>>12498069I don't like Eternal Champions, I didn't like Western-developed fighting games from that time period in general. I do enjoy MKII and UMK3, but would hardly call them mechanically good either. But Eternal Champions' roster was something else, you had a cat-burglar from 1920s Chicago fighting against an alchemist from 1692 Salem witch trials, fighting against an Egyptian Pharaoh, fighting against a American Wild West sheriff, fighting against a senator from 1990s Washington D.C., etc.
>>12498069PopilsGuru logi champ
>>12500117You do realize that the entire point of the game was having people from all different time periods fighting each other, right?
Klonoa
Siren. Ditch all the gimmich and third person shooter garbage from 2 and the movieslop from 3 and make it pure hopeless dread like the original
>>12501336Goddammit, I was about to say that.
