Hello /vr/What’s the most expensive piece of useless plastic you guys have?
Based OP plastic fucking sucks I just got rid of my entire childhood collection, gave it all away for free to the local synagogue
My bank card.
Magical Chase on TG-16.
>>12499236Mike Matei owns a legit copy of that
>>12499220how about the computer or phone you typed this on?
Atari Jaguar and Virtual Boy, I brought them so cheap while people on here were complaining about how retro was unaffordable. Neo Geo pocket and Wonder Swan are still cheap, get them before they go up.
>WATA
>>12499220According to Gameye, these are the most expensive carts I own. Panorama Cotton doesn't count, I have the Colombus Circle version but it wasn't in the database.
>>12499220Damn, was hoping to see some cool collections in this thread. No timestamped photos except for OP.Guess /vr/ is either broke now or they all just emulate.
>>12499220i have sega cd snatcher and moonwalker
>>12499267Loser.
>>12499271I have a japanese windows 98 sonic CD but im to lazy to screencap it, it's not worth much though (like 150 bucks on ebay)
I have a sealed Haunting Ground. It's the PAL version though, so maybe not worth a fortune
>>12499282>>12499284>>12499280No screen caps??? You faggots are so lazy these days. Miserable fucking website of lazy retards.
Most expensive? Probably Zelda's Adventure or my two player Daytona USA machine.Actually rarest? I have a copy of that one Lil Howie educational pc game that is supposedly lost media.>>12499236I'm only able to larp with my big box windows copy of the jap version.
>>12499292you just want to see pics of sperg kids’ bedrooms, pedo
>>12499281Aww, is the wittle faggot jealous? Seethe harder
>>12499296No, I just want to see actual pictures of video games instead of a bunch of faggots claiming they have rare shit but are clearly lying.
>>12499314i’m not going into my vault to take pics of snatcher just to satisfy your faggy thread. go look on ebay if you need pics.
>>12499314I'm not going to rummage through my bins and find a specific random game just so you can accuse me of stealing the picture from Google images ya cunt
>>12499303Mate, you're just a random anonymous person in the world, do you really think we care so much about some random cocky little shit owning a piece of plastic he isn't even playing because he WATA'd it?The game isn't even good or fun, and no one really cares about it today. If you really think you're so big and better than us for owning a piece of crap you seriously need to get help.
>>12499220you will never be a woman
>>12499392>do you really think we careNta but clearly you do, sperglord.
>>12499296You don't need to sign your posts here on this board.

>>12499392>he WATA'd itSpeak English>The game isn't even good or funWhich one? I posted several. For someone who claims to not care, you sure are mad about this.
>>12499220damn, lose weight bitch, you look like you're at least 180 lbs judging by that reflection, fuckin cow
>>12499349>accuse me of stealing Timestamp you fucking nigger. This is literally an anonymous message board. The only thing you can do do distinguish yourself from another anon is post a picture with a timestamp and participate in a thread to the best of your abilities instead of just rageposting acting like you’re “too cool” to post for a thread. You’re not above anything, you’re on fucking /vr/. Post some vidya and participate or fuck off.
>>12499292I was going to take a photo of it, but it always shows up horizontally here instead of straight

>>12499460its diagonal now
I have my original pokemon xDDD gamecube bundle, complete with the box. Never threw it out for some reason. Not sure how much that goes for
My SCD/Saturn collection is worth quite a bit.
>>12499627Worthless collection without the Virtua Fighters or the lightgun games.
>>12499627Where is Sonic CD?
>>12499220factory sealed snes controller i snagged on ebay for $50 in 2016
>>12499627some of those titles need to be behind glass or in a box that offers more protection.
Have an original copy of Shantae, loose. Would have thought the LRG repros would have brought the asking prices down, but apparently not. Not that I give much of a shit. I honestly wish games were more affordable for those who wanted to actually play them. It's a grim market.
>>12499874Those who actually want to play games use emulators. No one in their right mind will scour ebay auctions or whatever for a working copy of a 30 year old cart just to play a game.
>>12500063Oh, I agree, it doesn't make financial sense anymore. I'm just lamenting that it wasn't always that way. Quite a few hobbies have priced newcomers and those on a budget in recent years. I don't take any joy in seeing prices go up, even for stuff I own. That "got mine" attitude isn't healthy for any hobby, and ultimately kills them when no new blood takes them up. I myself make use of both OG hardware and emulation, and see emulator development as the key to people being able to enjoy these games in the future.
These are my top most expensive games. A few are missing from the top slots since I haven't added them yet or pricecharting does not have a good estimate for them:Dicing Knight CIBDicing Knight. CIBKeio Sega CDAero Fighters CIB w/ posterI'd like to buy Magical Chase some day. That might be my big purchase next year.
>>12499220A review copy of Kuon I got from a dirty ass lot, it's pretty scratched up but it works. I'm probably gonna look into selling it in the near future though. I also got a couple of undumped preview builds from the same lot though I don't know if there's any interest in that.
>>12500160Oh I forgot a few othersHammerin Harry GBHammerin Harry NESCotton Neo Geo PocketCowboy KidGinga Fukei DensetsuI already have almost all of the expensive stuff I want by now purchased.
I'm a pleb when it comes to rare games.
Paid 5 euros for a copy at my local game store over a decade ago. Prices peaked at 400 euros a few years back, now they're down to 150 euros. Though that's "market pricing" as finding an actual buyer willing to pay that much is essentially impossible. This was completely worthless for a long time due to a Google issue of all things. Googling "Buccaneer PS2" would only give you results for "Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer" which is an entirely different game. So this one went way under the radar for years until that got fixed and suddenly the price went through the roof. There's a few other games that notably suffered from similar issues with Google such as Deadly Skies for PS1 and the Irritating Stick game for N64, but their prices have yet to go up as much.
>>12500482Some of these highly rare games have prices that are basically impossible to actually act upon, yeah. Oftentimes their "value" is calculated on a single sale which may or may not be fraudulent to begin with. There's some rare PS2 stuff like Haunting Ground or Rule of Rose or whatever that's very easy to sell for their theoretical value, but there's stuff that's just as if not more rare but that are very hard to get rid of.
>>12500534For a lot of the higher end games, the value may indeed be there, it's just not guaranteed that the relatively small group of people able and willing to pay full market price will be there right when you want to sell. I think bricken mordor stores lose sight of this, so they'll set out some meme game on their shelf for $2,000, overlooking the likelihood that there are zero people within driving range of their store who want to pay that much.I know I have some turbo rarities in the four figure range that I could try to sell at a local meet up for $50, and have zero nibbles because nobody there would even know what it is.A good example is that recent Punch Out prototype. Put that out on the shelf at a game store in Helena, Montana for $50, and I can guarantee you that nobody visiting the store would buy it, or probably think it is anything other than somebody replacing a label on a normal PO cart.
>>12500450It might just be the photo, but those labels look a bit sketchy. Especially that Chrono Trigger. Yours may be a different revision to mine, but my legit copy doesn't say ESRB on the rating. You may want to crack those open to see if they are bootlegs or not.
>>12500550Nah man. Nah. There are more people willing to buy in person than on eBay. I saw a rough-ish CIB of Flintstones Dino Peak sell at around $4000 US a few months ago
>>12499220>5.0lol
>>12500534One example of this i can think of is Beach Soccer on Xbox. I think it was a legit low print run and its prices are autistic as hell. Sometimes on ebay you can snatch it for 30, other times there will be only one listing for over 100. I assume its value also comes from just being a weird one that xbox set collectors have to get. Also Jackie Chan Stuntmaster on ps1 goes for absurd prices now, but i would not doubt thats due to youtubers probably and being "le hidden germ".
>>12500550That's why a lot of stores are always looking out for more common but valuable stuff rather than obscene rarities to stock up on. I think most stores would rather get a good deal on a bunch of Pokemon stuff than a fantastic deal on something super rare and obscure because the Pokemon stuff still goes for a fair bit of money and flies out the shelf as soon as you stock it. Rarer games may indeed be worth full market price but sometimes you have to be willing to sit on it for over a year before you find a buyer.
>>12499292fine, i'll deliver
>>12499220I honestly got no idea what prices are these days. Think I've seen Conkers bad fur day gor for a decent amount on ebay, but besides that I got no idea and also Idgaf.>useless plasticmy plastic isn't useless. Just recently modded my N64 with a HDMI mod to play it on a big screen. So I refuse to get the games rated and sealed away. Feels like an affront to the games. They are meant to be played.>inb4 PAL mockingyeah, fuck you too.>inb4 no time stampyeah, I am a lazy cunt. Feel free to not believe me, or steal the pic and larp in the future. Also don't ask me why I got "snake rattle n roll" 2 times. I don't know either.FYI game boy stuff is in the basement. Nothing special about it though. Maybe Pokemon red edition is ok, but that's about it.
>>12499826To be fair to him Sonic CD is quite expensive, I got mine for 60 bucks
>>12500653Don't listen to all the anti-PALs, we got some pretty good games that go for quite a lot.
Nothing crazy but these are my rarest carts
>>12499418I care more about people thinking they're better than others for owning a piece of plastic than the actual piece of plastic.I've got my own share of rare plastic with sentimental value for me but I only care about that: the value it has for me and not the validation of others.
>>12500063>Those who actually want to play games use emulators.speak for yourself, faggot.>No one in their right mind ok, you win this round>scour ebay auctions or whatever for a working copy of a 30 year old cart just to play a gameno ragrets though
>>12499220Either a sealed copy of Chrono Trigger DS or CIB Dragon Quest V on the DS.

>>12501724nta, just the guy who sold it to him. I stopped counting after 9000.
>>12501724I only cum on my anime figures.
>>12501232To be fair, one has to wonder if the people with sealed copies like these have even played the games they collect. Did they have other versions for playing so they kept these sealed? Or do they emulate them on the side? Or is their hobby collecting rarities itself and they have limited interest in playing the game?>>12499460>>12499461>>12499220
>>12502118I don't collect slabbed games (I've actually unslabbed one expensive game). My practice is that I'll play CD games (can't be arsed emulating) but I'll run cart-based games from an everdrive if they're a thousand bucks or more a copy
