One of the most broken RPGs ever released!
>>12499660One of the weakest attempts at bait ever posted
shut the fuck up bubsy
Once I found out about the missing no. glitch it was so fucking over for my save file.
the spaghetti code being held together by tape and string does not disqualify gen 1 from being one of the best RPGs ever. it may be literally impossible to play without experiencing glitches, but it's still fucking amazing and was pushing the technical limitations of the game boy
>>12499687>as pushing the technical limitations of the game boyhow? it's not a particularly flashy game
>>12499660I wonder how many batteries did I need back in the day when I beat the game. I think I fought against the elite four and caught Mewtwo using N64 transfer pak.
>>12499687>Pokemon>pushing the technical limitations of the game boylolwut
>>12499705>posts a gameboy color game
>>12499705The original GB version is just as smooth:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GquRMqYTcy4&t=1309s
>>12499715meant for >>12499712
>>12499715you win this one, but I don't find psedo 3d more technically impressive than a giant open world game with multiplayer, tons of items, tons of enemies, tons of npcs, and a story line packed into tiny gb rom
>>12499705>>12499715I would rather have 50 hours long rpg with 100+ characters than a shitty 2d racing game that only wants me to be at home playing an actual racer on my n64/ps1Meanwhile nothing at the ps1/n64 can scratches the same itch as Pokémon
I think the "pushing the limitations" about Pokémon refers to the huge maps stored into a small cartridge. And the million bats stuffed into that fucking cave. Yeah, you know which one.Fucking bats.
>>12499687What glitches did one run into during normal gameplay, out of interest?
>>12499695It's one of the few GB games to have a massive seamless map. That counts for something.
>>12499660Not even close. You just weren't exposed to the sheer number of completely broken RPGs that were only released in Japan.
>>12499879>The type match-ups are wrong>Crit rate boosting moves lower crit rateThose are probably the most obvious examples
>>12500446>obvious examplesNobody but nerds notices any of that shit, and most of those only know about it because they watched some stupid video essay decades later.
>>12499669Make me~ ;3
>>12499687>pushing the technical limitations of the game boyposts like this literally make my blood boilPokémon came out at the end of the game boy's lifecycle and still managed to look like dog shit compared to most older GB games like Legend of Zelda or FF AdventureGame Freak are notoriously lazy; they constantly release the buggiest, worst looking games of their respective platforms
>>12499660I'm sure many other RPGs are just as broken. People just have analysed Pokemon more closely.
>>12500510>Nobody but nerds notices any of that shitI think more people would have noticed ghost moves not working against psychic Pokemon.
>>12500552I wouldn't call that lazy, I would just say that Gamefreak have always been largely incompetent when it comes to graphics. They've always kept that a low priority.
>>12499715fantastic game
>>12500565>moveSThere is one (1) ghost move that's affected. Night Shade, which every ghost pokemon will also have, and which will always be doing more damage because Lick is absolutely pathetic, still hits psychics.
>>12500552I don't usually play with shaders, but those GB ones are actually pretty nice
>>12499660Nigger, bait used to be an art...On the slight chance that you're not attempting to troll and are serious - practically every Final Fantasy till like 8 had major bugs and straight out unimplemented mechanics in every fucking game. RPGs are mechanically speaking the most complex console games and the more complex is system, the more bugs and oddities will appear. You also did not noticed most of these oh-so-horrible gamebreaking bugs till some faggy poketubers told you about them, lets be honest.
