>Nintendo could merge the famicom and the disk system into one with no problem
>Sega could merge the Genesis and Sega CD into one with no problem
>But the Atari Jaguar only supported discs and had no cartridge support

Literally how did they fuck this up?

is that not a cartridge slot?

That's for memory cartridges though

The Jag2 would have been that. I was more interested in the internal upgrades. Would have competed with the PSX and Saturn nicely.

The CD unit reads carts too, or for memory saving.

How does it compare to the PC-FX tho?

Go figure.

No like those Sony mp3 player sticks
>>

I don't know. I only ever met one person in my life that owned an atari jaguar and he got arrested years later for molesting children.

true

The cartridge games don't need that memory cart.

Jesus christ. This thing competes with N64.

>merge famicom and disk system
That's the sexiest console I've ever seen. Why can't consoles look like this anymore?

I love this specific shade of dirty orange, reminds me of an old toy radio I had when I was a kid. It also makes me think of Sharp X1 computer.

Hell, I guess Sharp really loved muted reds and oranges.

There's only ever one reason to talk about the jaguar

Eh, on a original/AV Famicom you had to completely remove the FDS to play cartridges, and on a twin fami you had to manually select between cartridge or disk play unlike the Sega CD or Jaguar CD which would automatically try to boot a cartridge first then boot the CD addon if it didn't detect a cartridge.

>>12501542
you can either put memory tracks or game carts. so you don't have to remove the add-on to play regular games

>dirty orange
I think you mean coral or salmon. Whatever it may be, electronics need to be sold in funky colorways again. The MacBook Neo comes in a variety of vibrant colors, and considering Apple is a trendsetter in the tech space, I don't think we'll have to wait very long before we see colorful tech again.

>>12501502
Sega and Atari release CD add ons for systems that don't really need it, N64 has the 64 DD delayed for 3 years when it was super hyped and really would have fixed a big short coming.

>>12503347
Sounds like a mess. M2 was the awesome performing console that should have been released.
