In VI, once you learn the magic and obtain whatever stat boosts it give you, your character has it permanently no matter what magicite you have equipped.

>>12508228It's been 10+ years since I played it but in DQVI you slap on a job title for a few levels and after a while the skills tied to that job become pernanent. So if you switch to another job you get to keep the skills and spells from the other job. I can't remember if stat bonuses also carry over but at least skills-wise it's exactly how it works with espers in FFVI. DQVI is one of my favorite DQ games btw.

You become op in this game by just playing it normally. My 1st playthrough I didn't even bother with it because battles were way too easy.
>>12502012The tower is kind of horseshit if you try to do it the "right" way, make it all the way to the top grinding out the excessive number of random battles for like 45 minutes using magic only and beat the boss just to get nuked by the dead man's switch ultima. That was a pretty fucking cheesy setup.>just use life 3 broYeah but how the fuck would you know that spell was obligatory without consulting a guide first? The tower is obviously an endgame thing but so is the phoenix cave and if anything you're likely to leave the cave for last since it's a dungeon that requires multiple parties whereas the tower only requires 1. But you have to do the cave first and then grind out the life 3 spell before attempting the tower (which can be done during the tower itself but again, you kind of have to know the deal and plan ahead). Of course, now I just slap on the moogle boots and run for the roof because fuck random encounters. But for people attempting a blind playthrough this was kind of a brutal dick move because you are almost guaranteed to get killed by a boss you already beat after a long-ass grind with no opportunity to save. And yes, it did happen to me the first time. Still mad about it.
