Why are the boards so dogshit? they keep putting the star behind the mushroom pipes no one can reach

I never played the game alone. And Im sure the ai would get to the star no problem if that were the case
It always seems like the star is put behind one of the little spots or board event that everyone is forced to pass by and the only way to get to it is with a genie lamp or other items, it sucks ass
