Reddit millennials glaze the absolute mediocrity of BK, but DK64 was peak. The slander in recent years of DK64 has to be retards playing a game marketed towards children of yesteryear and somehow forget that the level design was mean for children who wanted the extra runtime in the game without the outdated perspective of lengthening playtime with difficulty spikes. Guys in their 30s whine "but game make me play same section more than once" while glazing Super Metroid for the exact same reason.

honestly, collect-a-thons are products of their time, and I don't think they've aged particularly well
Banjo had the best sound design of the bunch, Conker had the multiplayer
DK was ambituous, but kinda fell into this weird spot where it wasn't as fun as the DKC series, nor as memorable as Banjo
I think it would probably have been mostly forgotten if it weren't for the intro being popular

Fr? Never seen the DK64 glaze from millenials, mostly just zoomers. Makes sense though, as zoomers were the babies the game was appealing to. Not passing first screen is embarrassing tho. At least spring makes 2nd screen somewhat difficult.

Collectathons are the best genre in all of video games, even now.

DK64's multiplayer is criminally underrated
>>
DK64 was popularized by hbomberguy raising $300,000 for a transgender children's charity. Nobody would remember it if it wasn't for his troon stream.

OP here. Multiplayer was fun as a kid, but definitely needs a balance patch as an adult. Diving underwater makes the game incredibly campy. Matches can go infinitely since there's no way to turn off melons.

Rocket: Robot on Wheels is the true choice

Just because trannies took over DK64 doesn't make the game bad. I remember the good old days of DK64 like I remember AGDQ before the globohomos tainted it.

I'm shocked the furries haven't used dk characters more given some of Candy's dialogue in this game.

>appeals to milliennials trying to relive their youth
and how does that not apply to dk64 as well?

>Appeals to millennials trying to relieve their youth
Anon you do know that when Banjo came out millennials were still kids right? The oldest millennial was 17 if you go by typical age group standards.
>>
>>12503854
DK64 released in 1999. Old zoomers around 2-3 yo. Old millennials around 17. Assuming the age demographic the game appeals to is 5-7 yos, then given the time it took a lot of kids to actually afford games (likely buying older stuff for yourself since kids have no money) it's more of a game for old zoomers than young millennials. It had a lower difficulty level too, so it was meant to appeal to younger audiences. Most millennials would have been too old for the game's difficulty by release time.
>>
>>12503871
Sorry. Not clear. Main point is that the difficulty separates between the two age groups it appeals to.

as someone born in ‘96 that had the game because of my siblings, the game isn’t really a fun game for a three year old
didn’t enjoy it until I was 12

Utterly vomitous. There's nothing worse to truly take the meaning out of a game than turning it into a checklist. (of course soulless, inhuman aspergers zoomer robots "like" this (not really, they still piss and moan about it if it can't be flawlessly 100% cleared without consulting a guide))

protip try just enjoying the game and its atmosphere instead of feeding your skinner box loop
>>
they are both terrible games

No one said anything about 100%ing except you. Guess you're the soulless aspergers subhuman, and a retard on top of that.

just enjoy the collectathon by not collecting anything

Or just collect enough to feel satisfied. I still have never gotten all the blue coins in Super Mario Sunshine.
